Looks like I missed your first lot of HHCs, froddy. I didn't wake up too late, but then spent ages reading in bed, following a very weird dream about our snowed-in and iced-over street and our car with the roof crushed.
SC is on with meat sauce for lasagne and I'm on with preparations for DS1's sandwiches for tea.
Plan for today:
Find something for DS2 to eat
deal with paper recycling and sort through stuff from DS2's room
Do more sorting in DS2's room and put some laundry away
Take DS1 to work at 2.30
That's enough for the time being. I'll have a quick look at a well-known Swedisch retailer's website first. DS2's desk and wardrobe are from A**os and the quality is shocking. Doors don't close properly, drawers fall to pieces and I think it's time to offer it up on freegle (suitable for someone with a love of DIY).
Sun is shining here - have a lovely day, everyone.0 -

went outside to peg out washing and gazed, with interest and puzzlement, on a VERY wet patch on the ground near the kitchen. On further inspection I had a blocked drain cover - the one the WM drains into. Leaves, and then beneath them whiffy gunk. Big stuff scooped out/scraped off and then I washe dthe drain cover in hot water. *removes peg from nose*
Am trying to fit side light bulb. So farI have disconnected fog light *sighs deeply* and shredded skin *winces*. Am (officially) looking for illustrations of set up (and failing). *HUGE SIGH*
Sorry about the furry, Froddy.
I can't remember any posts in particular (and, coming from someone who searched for THE GLASSES SHE WAS WEARING this morning I think I'm excused). But I love the thread.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily Dickinson

tonight having early new year with DD3 and her partner, so trival pursuit and snacks etc
have s&s in the bathroom kitchen and culled a couple of black bags of stuff from attic. debating if the baggy goth trousers are better sent to the charity shop or the cash for clothes shop, dont think there are many goths left in the area and they weigh quite heavy so slightly leaning towards cash shop at mo, do they take anything or does it have to be modern stuff? i havent used one before.

DH and DS out for a walk with the dog so expecting soggy dog and soggy clothes any time soon.
I have quite a productive morning whilst they were out..tried out my new Kenwood prospero and made a victoria sandwich, cleaned the kitchen surfaces and hoovered and washed floor in there.
Hoovered most of downstairs, just going to clean out wood burner and then dust and hoover living room. Beef roasting nicely in the oven for when the hungry walkers get back. Then HHI as DD has just got the board out to iron a skirt she is making (out of what appears to be curtain fabric???)
I am determined to meet the ironing challenge so best get on with it.Make £10 per day in July £45.48/£310
June £232.66, May £310.36, April £310.19, March £287.32, February £250.18, January £257.24
Swagbucks in 2015 £65/£1500 -
just back from town with DD1 and DH. Could happily have come home 2 hours ago - i feel completely done in!
Possibly a visit to the GP tomorrow?
And guess what? It's still raining!:jFlylady and proud of it:j0 -
Well downstairs is nearly back to normal - DH will help with putting bits in the loft tomorrow, I managed to get it all down but I'mm too tired to try and get it all back today. I've moved furniture here there and everywhere, moved comp out of Kand back into Dr, hoovered some more and done some washing, now waiting for Mum to come over and for a neighbours daughter to come and pick up her ironing that I've started to do - all extra pennies :]Projects made for craft fair - 40

1st fair on 13/4/14 :j0 -
I love the thread too. I think I joined back in February. I wasn't in a good place and I was craving order and control of some sort. And what I found was support, understanding and friendship.
I've come such a long way since those dark days, and in no small part, thanks to all of you :A I really hope I can start to offer some support back if ever any of you are in need.
I can actually say I now feel "ok" about myself. Obviously I wish "it" had never happened, but it has, and I am forging a decent life for us now, something I never believed possible 12 months ago.
One of my favourite posts was the pic of the pigpen grandbeasts. One so tiny, and one do big, but very cute the pair of them. Pigpen, if you are lurking, do let us know how the little fellas are doing!
Well, flying today was done at my gran's house. It wasn't dirty as we've been in whilst she was in hospital, but it did need things putting away. We are meeting there ahead of the funeral to go together. So all the papers lying around needed to be put away. So I did that, while my mum and aunt went on a hunt for the grave certificate (she will be buried with my granddad).
Whilst searching we came across loads of boxes of chocolates,
one half eaten box dated September 2010. Then my aunt found a school photo of me and my brother. We put everything back, and one day after the funeral, we will all go together (probably with a bottle of brandy) and have a good sift through.
Home now. I have an embroidery hoop, DS has new shoes and DD had just tipped crisps everywhere - off I go...Bossymoo
Away with the fairies :beer:0 -
Bossy I know others have said it, but you are an inspiration to us. You are such a brave lady, and a wonderful mum. (((hugs)))
Veg all prepped for dinner. I am going to put the meat on at about 4pm. DH is having a cuppa then he is off to pick up DD1 :j It is about 1 1/4 hour drive, then back again.
I am making a start on my literature review, and have done an entry in my research diary (I am supposed to average 1 entry a fortnight - and last did an entry 26/11! It is 15% of my mark). Then I have an essay to do by 21/1 - but don't know where to start
This is when studying online has its disadvantages.
Ok - back to it until the meat goes in.....0 -
I now know how to remove the bulb that does the full beam - and replace it. Unfortunately THAT doesn't work now either:rotfl:
I am officially throwing in the towel before I cause any more damage; will throw myself on the mercy of a man and may well write a strongly-worded email to the motoring organisation of which I am a member sugggesting that legislation be introduced forcing manufacturers to build cars which have easily-replaceable bulbs ie by the driver and without dismantling the flipping car;)Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily Dickinson

Hello xx
just a quick un-lurk to wish everyone all the best for the New Year. xx
Thanks to you and the inspiration you bring I am starting 2013 no longer suffering from CHAOS :T The house is not brilliant by any standards - but I had an ex-NN in for coffee on Friday
, and DS ( 20 today) has invited a young lady around to watch DVDs/ play on PS etc this afternoon.
I now actually believe it can be done - and am planning on redecorating the LR in the Spring; and will slowly de-junk the two RoDs aka the third bedroom and the cupboard under the stairs box by box through the year.
Thank you xxIT ONLY TAKES SMALL DAILY ACTIONSFOR MAGIC TO HAPPENRosemary Ikpeme
