  • Bonnie - I'm seconding what Kazm said - support on here is amazing and it spurs you on.

I'm having the post Xmas pre New Year tidy up, Decs are all down and packed up just need to go into the loft, DH will help with this tomorrow. Long list of jobs to do today and I've done alot already - just stopping for toast and coffee

Started sorting out my clothes - don't think I'll have much left in my wardrobe when I've finished.

  • morning......."the tree is DOWN, I repeat the tree is DOWN!" :D:D:D - yes, there has been a casualty of tree rage, in fact all the nasty multicoloured cobwebs are down.....its so much easier now to fly as I don't spend all day trying to ignore all the dangly bits and then walk past all the other bits that really should be getting my attention (old habits die hard!) ;)

The LR had a jolly good hoover last night as with no tree in the way, DD1 could tip up the settee to hoover underneath it.

All the hallway mats have had a good hoover too......although I can see I may need to crack out the v@x before the EX MIL arrives to stay on Wednesday.

I finally got round to glossing the skirting boards for the downstairs loo last night, so by tonight they should be hard dry to glue into place :j

AND........AND......I spent 2 hours in the Room of Doom, got rid of 3 bags for secure destruction, got DD1 to take spare electrical gibble box (scart leads, spare mice etc) up the loft, and 3 laundry bags of old photo albums and memorabilia up the loft (I was promising myself I was going to scan them off on the computer for HH a day as my ME time, but as I haven't got my desktop working properly again yet seems like I can "kiss these bags and turn them into FROGS!":rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: )

I might try and spend a bit of time in there again later when/if DS goes down for a nap to clean the pods and the floor, as I am tempted to split DD3 bunk beds and put one in there, so EX MIL can sleep downstairs and use the new loo rather than than stamping around the house in the middle of the night waking everyone when they have school the next day.

How I have missed having DD1 around to help with some of these jobs (DD2 has brute strength, but sometimes, you need someone with a bit of instinct to follow your lead when lifting and carrying things!)

The EX is taking DS to see Mike the Knight at my local shopping centre today....DS is chomping at the bit to go but EX is still asleep so could be hours before he is actually ready to collect and take DS......I fear I could end up doing this (it's just a one day thing :( ) and end up with balloon feet again :eek::eek:

Oh well, roll on tomorrow :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

big hugs and spoons to all that need
The cold never bothered me anyway

I agree with everything you said kazmeister! Thanks for remembering me...

The past year, I've got my work life balance out of kilter - too much work, and the rest of the time I have had to focus on immediate family. More distant family, friends, leisure, gardening have all been neglected - something I intend to put right this year!

Love and hugs, to all my Flylady friends, new and not so new!

    Hi all

Weekend jobs are being tackled by Mr LW pretty much on his own, as my paws are swollen and very, very painful. He's hung out the bedlinen, washed three hand-wash-only tops of mine, and put a carousel of my underwear up on the corner of the whirligig to dry. He's also washed out the kitchen compost caddy and given the bath lift it's weekly scrub with Stardrops.:A

(((HUGS))) to all dealing with sadness and loss – it all seems more poignant at this time of year, doesn't it?

Froddy oh, I'm so sorry to hear about Patch;:( I must have somehow missed earlier news, as you say you're now ratless. Hopefully not for long – somehow little paws have a way of wandering into your life, I've found; like with my dog-sitting, I was just in the right place at the right time to find out they were looking for host families. Have a Wolfy (((HUG))) to be going on with.

Bonnie I don't think I could single out just three posts – and I'd probably attribute them to the wrong people if I tried!:D But I agree, the support here is amazing; I suppose what I like as much as anything – and this will reall surprise you all (NOT) is hearing about Furbabies of whatever variety.:o And of course Featherbabies, cos I like birds as well.:o

Looks like we'll be taking the decs down on Jan 1st:o - this is what Mr LW wants to do, and it's fine with me; he'll do the stuff round the room, I'll dismantle the tree (it's only little - about a foot high and sits on my desk) then I can have a jolly time playing Dec Tetris to get it all back in the cardboard box we store it in.:D
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)
  • So sorry to hear your news frodders :( Have a huggle xx

kazmeister your post was lovely :A

Well my nose got so bunged up and I coughed so much through Downton that I made myself sick. Then I woke up in the night and was mightily sick again (sorry for those having a late breakfast/early lunch) The WM will be busy today :o I also kept waking myself up with my own snoring  No wonder I haven't got a boyfriend lol

Anyway... I'm going to take it slow today as I have to be fit for work tomorrow. Jue I think I may follow your lead and sort out my clothes and my shoes. I haven't really got that much but I've got too much and I need to be ruthless.

Have a good Sunday all xx

  • Morning all (just!!!).

kazm and LW - yes, I will be getting more (though not as many!). I'm thinking maybe 3 boys .........

I'm going for a major bin bag dance in a bit so it may be an hour long so .........

HHC (or 2) from 12:00 anyone?

Dailies all done and DH has just made lunch as well as having made breakfast before he goes off to work. WM going as dog was sick all over door mat. But rest of afternoon and evening is me me me time again (oh and another dog walk).
Spend less now, work less later.
  • Good afternnon :D

DD1's prsents wrapped. better late than never :o
LR has been hoovered, and stuff that shouldn't be there has been put away
New calendar has had a few dates put on it (deadlines for my course, mainly) and put up in the kitchen
Dog has been walked (by DH)
TD put on, then emptied & folded

DH has gone to see if he can spend the voucher from his sister in the music shop. My sister bought him the mandolin he wanted, so he is going to have to think of something else :D There is a farm shop there as well, so he has been asked to get some veg for dinner (we have carrots & potatoes & that is about it!)

Pork has thawed out, so I will put that on later. Sis & BIL are coming at about 6, & DH should be back with DD1 by about 6.30, so plan to have dinner soon after that. Then she can open her Christmas presents!! It has been weird not having her here (she was at BF's in Notts, then working in Ipswich)

I think I will make myself a sandwich for lunch now, then I may try & do a bit of studying while it is quiet. I may peel some potatoes as well. Sounds like a plan!
