M&S Sale - *UPDATED*

M+S have a very strange stock allocation system which I have complained about to them before. If you place an order and then someone places an order after you with an earlier delivery date then the second person receives the goods rather than the first person ordering (if that makes sense!). I would have thought that the first person would have reserved the item so would get it.0

They need to ring fence their stock like John Lewis etc do, it's ridiculous the system they have. All my items got cancelled too so I complained, I got a £5 credit on my account - wow big deal for the 1.5 hrs spent ordering and then sorting the mess out!0

Seems to be pot luck - previous order was cancelled but this time all four orders pre Xmas glitch (placed 22nd and 24th) collected today, 27 items. Very pleased with everything - lots of pressies, crackers and candles etc sorted for next year.“Rain drops are not the ones who bring the clouds.”0

I am so so annoyed most of my orders has been canclled. The figure gone from £69 to £24 including delivery charges. have i known most of my order will not turn up, i would have canclled the entire order.0

From posts here it sounds like the store delivery orders are getting priority over home deliveries maybe?
Well done to those who got all their stuff
I'm not too bothered my tops were cancelled they were only for work, but their attitude really annoys me. They have had years to sort this out, but they clearly don't think it's important as it's the same excuses every year. I think they forget there are plenty of other places we can buy from and be confident you will get all you order, most companies don't seem to find it so difficult.0 -
like the otehr poster says, u win some lose some, i got the M&S hamper glitch which makes my neighbour day! But as luck would have it, i lose out on most of the christmas stuff for next year (2 things especially: the recordable grandma n grandpa christmas card n marcel wonders 3d christmas cards).
hopefully my main marksy still got these 2 in stock0 -

They signed a very long contract back in 2005 with their website provider (Amazon) and are locked in until 2014.
A foolish decision on their part me thinks.

Hooray, I collected my Christmas Eve sale order yesterday even though delivery date was 2 nd Jan. I had an email last weekend to say it was on its way to my nominated store, I rang yesterday and hey presto it was there earlier than expected :j
I love M&S, I was lucky with the hamper glitch and my sale items. One very satisfied customer0 -
