M&S Sale - *UPDATED*

I'm really disappointed. Ordered on 24th, all items had more than 10 in stock. Put some £5 vests on for my son as I was ordering anyway. everything apart from the vests has now been cancelled today. Not impressed at all!

I complained by email, the response included this gem:

"I appreciate you feel we don't update our stock enough, however, we advise all items are subject to availability and aren't guaranteed until time of despatch. Therefore, an order may be placed. However, the system may not realise there isn't enough to fulfil each order until we despatch your items." (their punctuation)

I think they mean, "you can place an order but it's a lottery if you actually get it."

Did my orders to be collected yesterday got email yesterday to say orders will be ready for collection 31st December. I donnt know if Im coming or going with this lot if i hadnt checked emails early yesterday morning would have had a pointless trip in the pouring rain.

I'd advise everyone with open orders to check their 'My Account' page on the M&S website to get the actual status of the order. The sending of emails seems to be a bit hit and miss, to say the least!

Every time they have a sale and I get orders cancelled or items deleted from them, I decide I'm never going to place another order. Then I see a deal on here, place an order and start telling myself 'it'll be different this time' - sadly it rarely is!

Just had an email to say my order for store collection (Friday) has been sent, both items!

Same as me. Got the e mail saying items were dispatched, ready for pick up tomorrow. But today got an e mail saying items haven't arrived to store so a refund as been done. I wonder how they can say they have been dispatched then? don't get it.

All items have been dispatched,went to store yesterday to pick up 2 items,my items had arrived but been mixed up with another customer with same name,lucky I checked items before leaving store ( seems other customer didn't ) after contacting other customer and they agreed to bring them back,but on another day,I told them I'd be back in next week,and for my inconvenience M&S give me a bottle of bubbly .

All except 2 items are now not available despite ordering them all Xmas eve morning. And they also sent an email saying that i can't get them on the date i wanted to collect either. So disappointing. But at least i saved some money. The grand total of my order 'if' it actually arrives is now a whopping £3.50!
Very disappointed in M&S this year.
John Lewis however have excelled themselves, placed an order at the same time as M&S and it all arrived on the 27th.
Can't win 'em all i guess!

I must be lucky with M&S this year - I ordered 3 items and I received them all, and collected on the date promised.
Having said that I missed out on all the Hamper bargains, both M&S and Waitrose, so I suppose it all balances out in the end.
