I think 1pt of liquid is enough to cook a pork joint or may be an inch or two in the bottom. If your liquid is covering the joint I would think of taking some out but I am only a beginner myself. If winter comes, can spring be far behind?
Spring begins on 21st March.0 -
thanx guys for the last 3 replys
ok
the pork joint is doing breast stroke i think, the veg (onions, mushrooms and apples) are doing back stroke!!!!!!!!!
should i just leave it like it or take alot of the juice out????? (swimming for nearly 4 hours now, hopefuly drowned by 5.00pm)

It might just come out quite sweet, you can always remove some of the liquid before serving, but I think you might have over done the liquid, at least your vegtable know how to swim! lolDebt free since July 2013! Woo hoo! The bank actually laughed when I said I have come in to cancel my overdraft.0

pammy - glad it was nice!
I wondered about the liquid thing as well so thanks for asking that question!
Well, as my LO has been very clingy today my batch cooking has not been done  I think that I'll have to do it overnight. I always cook chilli over a low heat for about 90mins so I'm sure a good 8 hours on LOW will be fine.A very busy Yummy Mummy to a 1 year old gorgeous boy :smileyhea
Where does the time go? :think:0 -
Well I did go out and buy a smaller SC. I already have the 6.5L CrockPot which is great for big stews and anything with lots of potatoes and other root veg, but too big for just a bolognese or curry. So today I got the Asda one for £15. It is soooo cute! It's small and round and reminds me of the magic porridge pot!
I think I'll put a chicken curry in it in the morning. I've not been using my SC as often as I'd like because of it's size, so here's hoping that will all change now!Wendy x0 -

I have just googled "the magic porridge pot". Did you mean the childrens book by any chance?0 -
Yes the kids story - I used to have the book when I was little. It's like a little cauldron!Wendy x0
