Have only recently logged on to this thread. So many people seem to be using slow cookers and as I don't have one would really appreciate feedback as to their usefulness as opposed to regular cooking. Many thanks in advance.0

For me, my SC is a lifesaver. I work part time, and have three kids who do various after school activities. I can get the dinner in the SC before I go to work, safe in the knowledge that when we get home at night a healthy dinner will be ready and waiting for us.0 -
Just about to dish up:
Pork loin steaks with tinned tomatoes, paprika, onion, garlic, and butter beans. Going to serve with mashed sweet potato. Smells delish, so will let you knowNeed to start again0 -
I've just set off my slow cooker with a jointed rabbit (£2.99) in local butchers, together with 2 chopped carrots, 2 slices of chopped swede, 1 large onion chopped, 1 chopped red pepper, 4 tablespoons of red lentils, 1 tablespoon of barley, chicken stock cube, large glug of red wine (homemade elderberry), black pepper, garlic, 2 teaspoons of French seasoning (Aldi) and just enough water to cover. I work nights so I usually use my slow cooker overnight on auto (4 hrs high then on low). I did rabbit a few days ago and it was lovely but this one is a completely different flavour.0

Got home and my goulash looks sooo good! Tried my first slow cooker recipe this week - a curry - and it was quite nice, a little bland though. I learnt my lesson and added LOTS of paprika today and it smells amazing! I am converted to slow cooking - I've even got my mum at it now too! :-)0
