Yesterday ratatouille, today mince not sure yet but probably a chilli in the end, haven't had one in a long while.

Anyone know if I can freeze the excess ratatouille? Or will it turn to mush?

How about a steamed pudding - with a well tied foil top standing in the liquid from your meal

It should be ok - nothing to lose by trying it.

you have to be careful of using strong flavours,as the condensation from the lid will drip down onto the food below,if a pudding wasnt covered seperately then you could end up with onion/garlic/beef flavoured rice/cake etc
Aparantly there used to be a slow cooker with a divided crockpot, but this was the big problem, savoury food condensation contaminationg sweet foods and vice versa.
PS,you could try some small ramekin dishes covered with foil?or a foil takeaway type dish??

I've just set off a chicken and sweet potato stew in my slow cooker. Onions, garlic, celery, red lentils, a little bit of chopped pork belly, some free range chicken thighs (thunder thighs!), some herbs and a little veg stock from the freezer. It's destined for the ready-meal drawer in the freezer.

A pork joint on a bed of apples, onions, and whole carrots. I cut off the rind off first (for crackling in the oven later), then seasoned with sage, rosemary, garlic, seasalt, pepper, and a small amount of allspice, then browned to seal in a wok before adding to the slow cooker with 1/2 cup of apple juice and 2 glasses of white wine.

The carrots will be served on the side, with the juices made into a gravy.
