Hello Pammie,
Most recipes are really quick and easy to make in the SC. A stew is a good start; you can add dumplings about 40 minutes towards the end of cooking, or perhaps a chilli, or pasta sauce, or just a joint of meat/fish. To save time, don't bother pre-browning anything.
It literally takes a few mins preparation in the morning.
You don't need to turn the SC on until you are ready to cook.0 -
hi sublime and thank you
i didn't get a reciepe book with my SC, so i'm reading these posts for ideas.
if the meat is in the cooker for about 12 hours on low, will it make it go too soft or soggy?
and (sorry for the questions) if i do spag bol, is ok to cheat, using jar sauce, and what do i do? (just put in meat, oions then the sauce on top, or add any water?). will 11/12 hours be ok?
the thought of little washing up is great!!!!!
i am known to use every utensil when cooking:rotfl:
thanx again..I SPOKE TO A WISE OLD MAN THE OTHER DAY.

Best place to start is the slow cooker collection, as recommended by other posters. This should give you a good start. Put the veg at the bottom then the meat and liquid. For bolognaise sauce, I always put the onions/garlic and other veg (such as grated carrots, chopped mushrooms) at the bottom, then the meat and tomatoes/wine on top, and yes, it is fine to use a jar.
I love my Slow Cooker. :A
