I butter the sc bowl first then add 125g pudding rice, 1.5 litres milk, 125g sugar, 10g butter all into bowl, Grate some nutmeg on top then leave for couple of hours on low.

It's a recipe with pinto beans and pizza-type flavouring, then later it gets cheese melted on top. As I say, this is the first time I've made it, so we'll see how it goes.

    Chicken vindaloo today:

    4 cloves garlic
    knob of ginger
    Coriander (fresh or paste)
    red chilli (fresh or paste)
    2 onions
    6 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
    1/2 jar pataks vindaloo paste
    1 tin chopped tomatoes
Water - enough to cover everything
    Chicken breasts or thighs

Fry onion, garlic, ginger, coriander and chilli. Bung in everything else; don't bother dicing the chicken - it will fall apart if prodded with a fork at the end of cooking. Cook on low for 6 hours ish.

I adapted this recipe from a Jamie Oliver one and it's delicious done in the slow cooker. To get 6 portions or more, I also add a couple of handfuls of red lentils, a handful of quinoa, a tin of chickpeas, mushrooms and cauliflour.

I have in my SC today Sausage Casserole. I prepared all the vegetables last night as I am not very good in a morning! I threw in a tin of chopped Toms a tin of beans, a couple of onions, 8 sausages, some little potatoes (left skin on just chopped them into nice pieces) couple carrots, some frozen green beans, a shrivelled red chilli! and a glass of wine that was left over from the other night:cool: Smells lovely. Just waiting for DH to arrive back from work! :p

Anyway, gonna try a beef stew one day this week. Could I just throw new potatoes in at the beginning of cooking it or later on? And would it have to be new pots or ordinary white ones? Sorry again for silly questions. Thanks. x

Hi lab-lover, always put potatoes in first - at the bottom as they take the longest to cook. I guess you could use any potatoes really, I'm just lazy and chuck in a small tin! :p

Am going to do sausage casserole today, having read so many posts of what people are doing lately - will have to chuck frozen sausages in the oven now though & cook them slowly, slowly - else it'll never be ready for tonight!
