I am making a huge quantity of beef stock in the SC today. Now I realise that was a mistake, because I also wanted to use it to make veal ragu for dinner tonight.... can't do both! The ragu will have to be done in the pressure cooker later.

I have my chicken wings in the SC today. Soy sauce, garlic, onion, honey. They are supposed to be a starter but we will have them as a main with some chips when I finally get home tonight, yum :)

I was about to say I got one from Argos for £12, but now I think it's the same one you have :p how long have you had it?

I honestly can't remember but I estimate about a year. It's only used once or twice a week and it gets washed with a soft sponge scourer thing so I don't know why it's happened. I'm thinking that it'll be unhygenic with the cracks in now :( (Also scared cos I remember someone on this board who lifte her crockpot up and the bottom fell out lol!)

I suppose we maybe get what we pay for with these. I got mine just last week so hopefully I get a while out of it yet!

I had a slow cooker today but really don't know what to cook in it.
I don't like any of the recipies in the book that came with it so I need some help.
I don't like vegetables (except potatoes and peas), onions, herbs, spices, rice, pasta, beans, spagetti, lentils, curry, garlic, fruit or eggs.
There's loads of food I don't like so what can I cook in it.

Wow, matphil, that's a long list of 'don't likes'. I guess you struggle to get your 'five-a-day'. ;)

Do you mean you've just bought a slow cooker?

I use mine for stews, casseroles, soups etc and therefore vegetables, herbs, spices, lentils (of all colours) & garlic form a large part of what I cook in it.

Do you cook stews and casseroles in the oven? If so, you can adapt those recipes for your slow cooker.

Tell us what sort of food you usually eat and maybe someone can give you recipes.

    Regards

I made rice pudding in mine yesterday .... it was the loveliest, creamiest, yummiest thing ever. Sadly my husband was away on a work trip and daughters don't like rice pudding, so I had to eat it all myself. What a shame :)

Sausage and onion gravy in mine.
1st attempt and think I might have put far too much water in !!!
Had the SC for about 2 yrs and never used it, but after reading what you all do in yours
    I thought I'd give it a go.
Starting to save £2 coins again, but it is a struggle:rotfl:Not doing very well keep spending them
