    Hello Lois,
Sorry for the delay in replying.
I put 3/4 of a pint of cider, 3 tablespoons of honey and 1 ttbs of soy sauce.
I thickened the sauce to make a fantastic gravy (on the hob) and the meal was enjoyed by all.

After my first success with last week's lasagne, I am about to put cottage pie filling in mine. Going to try stretching the mince with soya mince as well as the usual veg, etc. Will be making enough for about 2-3 meals for us so hoping it turns out ok! Trying not to get too cocky after my last success :o

Update: it smells delish!!!! Just worked out an estimate - course maths ain't my strong point even at best of times with a calculator - it was about £1.92 for everything in the pot which should do 3 meals for all of us (not including the mash for the top, but, hey... still... :D) so a lil chuffed with myself at the mo ;)
Love and compassion to all x

Red lentils are great for bulking out bolognaise. I also use them in chilli and curries.

Bolognaise slow-cooked is lovely - enjoy!

I would like to know whether slow cooked spag bol is ok to leave on from say 8am to 6pm? I have done it before but only for say 5 hours.

I'd love to pop something in before going to work but would love suggestions as to which recipes can be done all day on a low heat
