The best place to learn to swim is to be taught at the local council pool.
Our local council run loads of adult lessons and they are usually a max of three people, either during the day or evenings. The advantage for our local council is that they offer a free swim pass for anyone having adult (or child) lessons, which means that for the cost of the lessons you can swim for free the rest of the week. I started having lessons to improve my front crawl (and to get the free/cheaper swimming) they are great. There is a real variety from people scared of the water, to experts and I found a really great atmosphere between all the learners.

I think my challenge needs to be to bake a cake that actually rises! when I was a 7 year old I could make really nice cakes but the older I get the worse they seem to be. Just made one today and it's more like a stodgy pudding, similar texture to bread pudding, LOL.

I even used my Kenwood mixer to do it and still it didn't rise.

I'll just have to keep trying until I finally manage to make one.
