I think my challenge needs to be to bake a cake that actually rises! when I was a 7 year old I could make really nice cakes but the older I get the worse they seem to be. Just made one today and it's more like a stodgy pudding, similar texture to bread pudding, LOL.

I even used my Kenwood mixer to do it and still it didn't rise.

I'll just have to keep trying until I finally manage to make one.

Lol we make a right pair. We should start a cake stall up.
I'm trying so hard to be thrifty, but it doesn't come naturally. You lot are an inspiration!

  • Lol if only I cud things really get on my nerves if they left undone. Finish work next week so will have more free time to sort the house out ... was thinking of making some bunting for baby room will ask mum if I cud borrow her sewing machine! Next weeks challenge ... pack hospital bag and do something crafty! Thanks! Thiiftygal26 :D

Bunting would be a lovely idea for the babies room. My MIL made my baby some for xmas. Defiantly get your bag packed! I had a baby in May and he was a month early - very glad I had packed by bag already and just grabbed it when my waters broke :) Wish i had put my knitting in there though as I was in for days then a couple of weeks after he was born. Imagine all the rows I could have done!

Next weeks challenge is to crack on with some cross stitch (i have a MASSIVE amount of work to do on one for the baby, about 600 hours worth ) and to bake something edible.

Oh can I join in...my first challenge of 2013 is to declutter my house from top to bottom....in the last week I have decluttered DD bedroom, DS bedroom and Bathroom....

I am now concentrating my efforts on the master bedroom as i want to have a go at Project 333

I have made hm washing powder in the past - it is lovely, and grating the soap down does wonders for your arm muscles lol!

Hi, my challenge from last Sunday until end of today involved doing "positive" uplifting money saving tasks for therapeutic reasons. On one hand, I didn't really try any new activity. On the other hand, my usual therepeutic activities balanced out somewhat other "daily difficulties". No idea what challenge to do next week.

My challenge was to make all meals from food already in the house - I failed but only by £4.50 so not too bad.

  • I've failed with my challenge last week. I needed the weather to be good in order to sand my chair outside but it's been raining most of the week so I never got it done.

Decided to make a more realistic plan for next week. I shall wash the windows which I've not done in absolute ages.

Project333 looks very interesting, will try to read up on that. Am I right in thinking you have to pay for it?
  • Well I have failed on my calculator challenge so far. It is still sitting in the drawer. I have managed to master knitted bobbles though, and have finished all the bobbles on my Dalek.
