Sighs this isn't about YOU, and you have basically said OP and her husband are in a position to better themselves (which is what the thread was about - them). They WILL be better, once one finds work, this is a blip for them, so as they are in a position to better themselves I don't get your point.

Why do you hijack threads and turn it to you and the fact that you are going to have to pay for the bedroom tax? That isn't relevant to OP - Who ALREADY pays £12 per week over her HB as she isn't lucky enough to have a council house.

If you want to make things personal - I am happy to do so, but not on someone else's thread.

if you need to spew bile on those less fortunate then go ahead.
of ot makes you feel better ....

The only one spewing bile here is you, why don't you leave princessdon alone? She's offered some good common-sense advice on this thread and has made an offer to help personally. Your bitterness is coming through in your posts.

the vast propotion of people cant put anything away.... theyre far tpp busy trying to make ends meet.

I can't see how you can believe this to be true.

Although not much of a saver myself, I would say that the vast majority of people do manage to put a bit aside, even if it's just to pay for Christmas or holidays.

    I agree.

I think many people do put some money aside, especially to save for christmas and such.

You'd think so wouldn't you but I failed miserably this year to save anything for Christmas :o.

But next year I will do better, I am determined. :D

The OP is getting some HB and CTB, as stated in her first post but that led to a little confusion as to how much she was getting and when and what she had to live on.
She still has to pay £12 a week towards the rent out of her limited budget.

OP, I really hope you can get help from all the suggestions on the thread. You and your family will get through this tough time and this time next year I'm sure you'll be having a much merrier Christmas. :)

If no-one is working shouldn't they be getting full HB now?

EDIT: They have private not council housing

Obviously there are people who can't afford to save but it's also obvious that many who can simply don't. 36% of households have Sky, 13 million foreign holidays sold last year, a packet of cigs a day £50 a week etc etc.

I agree with the old adage that you have six months of expenditure behind you before you can afford luxuries. I was one of the don't save people but I was lucky, only very briefly out of work twice. Thankfully my daughters are more sensible than me
    It's someone else's fault.

We've had posters before who have taken advantage of people who believe their story.

I'm certain those who have offered help will say they rather be had than think someone was left in this predicament, but it has to be said anyway in my opinion.
  • Sorry, have to run now, but i hope you get some help and advice, and please, don't get too despondent. Its not good for you or the baby :A

I have a fine to pay as I got caught without a tv licence, and the rest is the yearly licence. Wish we could afford a sky box lol
