Tesco Clubcard fraud - online vouchers stolen

Just to say that I've also had my account hacked. I didn't have any credit so they couldn't steal my points, but they did change the name, and also the email address and phone number so I wouldn't receive any communications from Tesco except by post. Presumably they do this automatically once they are into an account, so that I won't get immediately alerted to the hack by receiving confirmation that I'd just spent my points, or something.
Now, I know that Tesco web sites can go faulty. Once when trying to buy something from Tesco direct, the website hardly worked at all, and when it did, I kept getting someone else's shopping basket, so I was never able to checkout with my stuff. It was fascinating to see what other people were buying at about 7am on a Sunday morning, but a little concerning that things like this can happen.0 -
Ah, right.
Thanks for explaining. I now understand your issue.
Thanks wealdroam, sorry for going off on one the other day, but was just in a bad mood after speaking to the club card people. My mum and I ended up using one of the £50 club card vouchers off our weekly shopping on Friday just to get rid of it as we are now scared of our account getting hacked again. Straight away the cashier said she had never seen one club card voucher totalling £50 and what a stupid idea it was. She was shocked when I told her tesco had sent me three £50 ones. She was even more shocked when I told her the customer services adviser told me I had to have them in large amounts due to my account being hacked. Still, am now just grateful that I got my points back thats the main thing xx0 -
CC have no control over the value of vouchers, if your have them every three months you'll get three of roughly equal value, if your get them once a year you'll get six.
They have been complaints, so I believe £5.00s will have priority, rather than £4.50 !I used to work for Tesco - now retired - speciality Clubcard0 -

mine are £50.00 not £5.00 though!! grrr I see what you mean about how the balance is shared out. But I think club card should have done something different for all of us who had our vouchers stolen and should have given us back the amounts each individual voucher was for.
I have always had them in increments of £5, £10, £12 etc. When mine were used by the fraudsters, I assumed they would give me back the £87 in the denominations they were to begin with.
So now if I go into store the next time, and I see a pair of boots again for £20, instead of using the usual £10 voucher to double up, I have got to double up a £50 voucher instead and have all that change put back onto my account and wait for the next quarter to get them back in vouchers. The lady on the till last week couldn't believe club card are issuing people with £50 vouchers.
I just now worry for those people who have not checked their online balances the last few months and who go and try to use the vouchers at the till for the xmas grocery shopping and find out like I did at the checkout, that the vouchers had been fraudulently used. Tesco should have done something about this when it first started happening 12 months ago0 -
I discovered yesterday that my account has been hacked. They got £57.50 worth of vouchers that we had been saving for Christmas. Was initially told by Tesco that I would have to wait for the Feb 2014 statement before I could be reimbursed. Have since spoken to somebody else today who has now agreed to issue us with a giftcard. They also confirmed that this is still a very big problem. I have changed my password and even my email password. Encouraged friends and family to check their accounts too0

Beware the giftcard will be for £57.50 you cant double or or 4x with deals as far as im aware0

Just discovered I've had £111 worth of vouchers stolen as well. They've been spent on the 24th October in Gloucester and Cheltenham which I live no where near! Am registering it on Action Fraud website and will FB Tesco shortly. Only realised when I logged onto my account to buy some travel vouchers for a holiday in December. Been saving for 2 years :mad:0

To update on my situation. I managed to get all the points put back onto the account and in response to my complaint about not being able to spend before xmas, they said if I phone up then they can convert the points to the boost thiings I would want.
I know a gift card is no good, but I hope when I call up regarding the above that it will still be tripled etc.
This was sorted with teh FB customer service message and also by phoning the boost line.
I did get a response from the CEO email, which was very apologetic but it was after it had all been sorted. I expressed my dissappointment at how easy it was to use points and change details without any notifications to old emails etc, and he said that had been changed.
Don't panic people, it's very annoying but when you contact them it can be sorted if you have all your details.
Thanks for the replies and support on here too.

I'm now having a real headache... 4 seperate phone calls over the last 5-6 weeks about this.
Each time I am told the points will be put on in November, then when they weren't there I get told that a gift card, doubled up for the boost, will be sent. I've chased and chased and chased. Each time I am told they just need to forward it to their customer service manager to authorise and they will call me back. The giftcard nor the returned phonecall never emerge.
On each occasion I call I feel like I am treated like a con artist and they start over with the enquiry. My points were redeemed for Thorpe Park tickets down south somewhere, I live in Manchester and I also pointed out that the date they were redeemed/collected down south I had an online grocery delivery delivered to me here in Manchester as a way to prove it wasn't me. They always agree with me and apologise, although on the phone they claim this is a one off and there's no known issue with the stealing of clubcard points. I always redirect them here.
So now, sick of phone calls full of false promises, I have emailed them, hoping that it will keep a line of enquiry open rather than a different person everytime I call.Claimed: RBS Charges £1949.92 + £673.63 interest, Total £2623.55. A&L PPI £461.69 + £115.50, Total £577.19
Won: RBS £1949.92 :T (Settlement, no interest). A&L PPI £577.19!!!:T0 -
The only way I got it sorted was through emailing the ceo's office.
Even then they didn't sort it out straight away but at least you have a named contact and don't have to explain the whole thing over and over again each time you ring.0
