Evilsquid - well done on only gaining half a pound! I'm doing the Manchester 10k too - perhaps we could have a secret "Frump" code - nod, nod, wink, wink:rotfl:

if past years are anything to go by, i'll be the one desperately trying to out run a bear or some other furry animal/mascot whilst giving Mrs Brown herself a run for bad language! :rotfl:

I've had a mixed few days, I've been trying to stick to as many of my goals as possible but my PCOS is really dragging me back down. It seems to be getting gradually worse as the weeks go on but the doctors are useless and not doing anything to help.

I've managed some of my goals but just haven't felt like others between being in pain and long shifts in work.

I'm going to come back and read the last few pages of posts tomorrow when I have a day off and refocus myself for the week to come.

    Good morning all.

Well the Nytol worked and I'm up with the larks.

Going to tackle some ironing, a visit to Wilkinsons to stock up on some basic kit for the house, a few essential kitchenwares and a few toiletries etc and then visit OH.

The new house is still something of a dumping ground but I won't be sorting through much for the next few days because I still have to sort out some stuff the other end, a few more bits to bring here, a final charity shop run and a trip to the tip for the last few dregs.

I went back yesterday and the house felt really strange, already had that slight musty, un-lived in feel and of course there is dust and muddy footprints from the furniture removers. I will give it a good blitz for the new people.

Hopefully I can then make a start here next weekend, when DS2 has a few days off and DS1 can be around to lend a few muscles. DS2 still unwell with his lurgy and is only just about managing to crawl into work. He seems to have no energy.

At least I haven't succumbed. (Yet??? - Hopefully not - haven't got time).

Fabbing wise - not as much as I would like or as much as I defintely need. I'm always either desperately short on time or just plain shattered.

As long as I have time to bathe and make a bit of an effort with clothes, although my style has fallen into a uniform of trousers or jeans and a top and cardigan. Neat and tidy rather than stylish or chic. Still no make up because of my skin but I did at least sort out my nails last night, no varnish but a trim and file for now. Going to have to slather the cream on, my hands are really dry and quite sore.

I'm also needing a haircut soon but that will have to wait for the time being.

Fosterdog - sorry to hear about your PCOS. It must be very difficult for you.

Hugs to the poorly/fed up ones, high fives to the happy ones.

Keep going ladies. In the words of the old Carpenters song.....

    "We've only just begun". :D

Morning all! The last day before going back to work tomorrow - I don't think I'm the only one?

Still have a bag full of marking to do but I'm almost finished now thankfully, so that will be this afternoon's job.:(
Going to do a bit of batch cooking later too, so I eat properly when I'm tired after work this week. I must trim and file my nails too - they're very strong (which is good) but it does mean they get a bit like talons as they don't break.

Right, its time for a dog walk and then a run so better get on with it.

    Hi
LL - sounds like the housemove has gone really well good luck in the new house

WW - I take glucosamine and like LL think you really notice it if you forget, am also going to give it to doggy when she gets abit older as it helps to keep their joints mobile. Might have alook at the volunteer website myself - the last time I did though I never heard anything back, which surprised me since they always seem to be crying out for volunteers.Apparently it's becoming competitive in this area too.

Bitsy- Hope you are feeling a bit better. It does shake you up when you fall.

Hewie- thinking of you and hoping you are all ok

DS3 has got the apprenticeship he went for and starts next month, which means I will lose some money from my child tax credit and child benefit, and can't realistically expect DS3 to pay v. much board out of about £60 (during the trial period). So am aiming to get at least as far as the advert stage for a business by then. I've bought a couple of books and am working my way through them atm. I want to do it properly if I'm doing it.

It looks like DS2 and girlfriend are going for this summer for their wedding, so something to aim for fabwise as don't want to look frumpy on the photos even if my dress might be from primark :).
H is being v. negative about it all and threatening not to go, have decided to leave him to it and will make sure everyone knows I don't think it's on so hopefully they won't see it as a reflection on me. The reason he's giving is to do with family rifts on his side of the family.

Have looked at the website Bitsy linked me to (thanks Bitsy), it is along the lines of the counselling I had last year but am working through it has it does seem to help. Just got to keep working at things.

    Right must get on.......
    Have a good day all

Just a quickie - I've been working myself stupid since I got up so time for a break, some coffee and some food to keep me going.

The fog has descended so I might skip the shopping and just nip and see OH for a hour so I can make sure I can get back before it gets dark and the fog gets really thick.

I can drive in most weather conditions but am not overly happy in thick fog.

Lizzie - first of all yay for DS3. He's done so well - apprenticeships are like gold dust. He must have really impressed them. Re the money I know it's going to be tough losing some benefits because your son can't make up the shortfall. Can you earn a few shekkels on the QT -if you catch my drift .......Are you all E-bayed and carbooted out.

I was reading about food prices rises - it's going to be a tough year for a lot of people.

My DS2 works long and hard and for just above NMW. He gives me a little which of course doesn't even come anyway near what it costs to keep him. I'm definitely going to have to keep a tight rein on the finances. At least he will be saving a bit on petrol now that we live closer to his work. In fact I think there are a couple of footpaths so he can walk when the weather is nice.

What I really want to say - without sounding arrogant and naggy and hopefully without adding to your distress - please don't let you H spoil things for the wedding.

I have to say his attitude sounds dreadful and I fail to see why issues with his family should affect his own child's nuptuals. It's just a feeble pathetic excuse for behaving like a petulant child.

Your son and his fiance are entitled to a happy wedding and it's beyond the pale for your H to upset them with his dog in the manger attitude. There is a risk of a very deep rift opening up between your son and his future wife and you and your H if things don't change soon.

Lizzie - you will be piggy in the middle and unable to stop it. You will be the one that suffers. If your son's wife decides enough is enough (and frankly you can't really blame her - who wants the FIL from hell) they will just stay away and you will be cast adrift and isolated from your new family.

Please don't let that happen. Do you really want to be left alone to face a miserable lonely old age with this man. I'm sorry but from what I can see you have given him the best years of your life, you've given him devotion and loyalty and this is how he repays you.

I'm going to be really blunt and say just this and then I promise never to say another word on the subject. I truly do not want to upset you but I really do feel you need to act soon if you want any kind of future happiness and quality of life.

You have wasted far too much time on this man. If he were mine I would be telling him to shape up or ship out.

And now is the time to get serious with the fabbing so that you look gorgeous for your son's wedding:D

My friend gives her doggy glucosamine too.
  • Morning All. Feeling better today after my first decent nights sleep in a while. Going to spend some time journaling and meditating today and just letting myself relax before going back to work tomorrow.

    Fab wise today I plan:
    1. Walk - will combine this with shopping and take the trolley out.
    2. Shower, cleanse, tone, moisturise. Hair washed and styled.
    3. Take at least one hour to just relax; listen to music, an audio tape or the birds in the garden.
    4. Hand treatment.
  • End of week update from me:

-3/20 pound ( lost 3 lbs this week- ecstatic!) hope I can keep it off
    - eaten 5-7 fruit/veg everyday this week- skin & waistband all the better for it
    - make up/ outfits for work not started yet as back tomorrow!

Ww I like your idea of getting work outfits organised at the start of the week. May copy that one if you don't mind.

Pod person I am hoping the batch cooking will save me from myself ( and the biscuit barrel) when I am back in the work routine.

Bitsy we should challenge ourselves to get back in the wetsuits by the summer! My favourite one is a size 12 and I can't get it over my thighs :eek:I am currently using a mans one :o

Yes I already do this and whilst very welcome not enough to make a serious contribution.

I have on numerous occasions - he refuses to go. Joint tenancy so I've been told I can't force him. As I've said before house is near to my family (elderly parents, children, etc) it would cause me problems if I left in many ways so can't really see a way forward on that one atm.

And now is the time to get serious with the fabbing so that you look gorgeous for your son's wedding:D

yes having something to aim for will spur me on to add to the start I've already made.:) on this at least I can make a positive change.

I tried the woofer on glucosamine once and it gave him a really runny bum:eek::eek:
Will ask the vet next time I go whether there's a lower dose he an give him - the vet gave him the original stuff, perhaps he can reduce the quantity?
