    Hi everyone

New thread, new challenges. Hello to the new members from a fairly newbie herself.

WW - glad to hear your little dog is coming along so well. His recovery has been really quick, which is a good sign. All that loving is working.

LL - would love to hear some of your inspirational quotes. I'm not sure they're so inspirational as such, but I quite like 'you can't change what you don't acknowledge' and 'you choose the behaviour, you choose the consequences' (which I need to live a bit more by if I intend to shift some pounds over the xmas period). All a la Dr Phil (from the old Oprah show).

Fabbing still going okay. Got myself some new make up, feel as though I've been in a rut with the old liquid stuff, so got some of the Laura Geller powder stuff that looks like a foundation. Am impressed, its taken me a couple of goes to get my head round it but its nice so will perserve.

Nails growing okay and will be giving them a lick of varnish, when I do my nieces for the xmas season. They are only 8 and 11 but its a little thing we do each year ... pick a new varnish and I fab their nails for them (also gives their mum some free time with them out of the house).

Quick visit to the shops today for some xmas nibbles and visit to the crem tomorrow to see mum and dad. After that, its a lock in whilst I let the xmas madness pass :snow_laug

Look forward to catching up with you all in the New Year. x
I got there - I'm debt free and intend to stay that way. If I haven't got the cash, it doesn't get bought. It's as simple as that.

Morning - thanks for the new thread Bitsy, here we go then for the next 3 fabulous months.

    My goals are:
    • I registered for the half marathon next year so its on with the training increasing mileage from 6 miles to 15 miles over the next 3mth
    • I'm doing a zumbathon in Feb - will practice via you tube as I don't do zumba
    • Carry on with Jillian Michaels circuit training as usual
    • Doing well with skin care and fabbing routines and sticking to my mantra of tidying my nails and repainting once a week
    • Carry on with wearing the clothes I have in the wardrobe and wear them!
Quite manageable I think :D I joined this thread just over a year ago and its really helped me achieve a lot of this especially in the region of not feeling guilty spending some time pampering myself or taking some time to wear make up or jewellery.

    Onto other things now.....

Well, what a night out that was - one of the worst meals I've ever eaten out. Never thought you could go so wrong with a boiled sprout but I discovered you can! Good job we were laughing hysterically about it all the way through to make some amends. The place was souless, we complained to no avail really and it was very cold too. Anyhow, only had 2 drinks all night, plus they were very expensive and had fun watching lots of others getting hammered. My lovely work collegue picked me up and dropped me off and we had a good chat about things on the way there and back.

Oh well, no wonder they wanted to money up front! Glad I only spent £1.50 on some new tights and £3 on a glitzy belt and no more. We never seem to get it right for our Christmas do, even taking into account the lowering of standards at this time. I don't think I've ever eaten as little on meal out - can't say the diet got too busted!

Also glad I stuck to the plan of 2 drinks maximum and I started off with a diet coke with my manager poking fun at me for starting steadily, she really doesn't know me at all these days. Plus she brought a heavy chocolate cake into work at 9am with a slice missing she had for breakfast! We did have a chat about exercise early in the evening and she said she would make a gently start in the new year, I hope so as it will do her the world of good and she needs to for her own health, I hope its not one of those thoughts that never gets started and I suspect it might be.

So it was 2 single spiced rum about diet cokes with a lot of coke and ice, and 1 plain diet coke over 3 and a half hours - not too bad - what's that then a whole 2 units and of course I feel ever so slightly groggy today as a result. One day it will sink in to me that my body doesn't really tolerate alcohol these days due to how infrequently I drink it.

Happy fabbing one and all - lets rock fabulously!

Can I join please? Long time lurker here. Be back tomorrow with my goals..

Of course you can :D hope there's no hangover due to the gin ;)

Sparkles oh dear your meal sounds terrible  is it not worth writing a letter of complaint to the venue?

LL always interested to hear your notes from seminars :D and I quite often watch stuff on YouTube, especially if I am feeling low, always helps to improve my mood :)

Got errands and last minute wrapping to do today. Will fit in filing my nails, moisturising legs etc and I will do 15 mins yoga.

  • Hello, another Lurker here who has decided to do something for a change.

I like the idea, and it hit home when I read this thread last night that I have definitely let myself go over the last few years after becoming a Mum so starting today I am going to SORT IT!!

Starting with wearing perfume, I think that is a really good start it will make me feel good.

My goals for the future are:

    1. Lose weight, (I have piled the weight on over the years) but I am not setting any target as I always feel a failure when I don't reach it.

    2. Start wearing a bit of make up.

    3. Exercise (baby steps)

So just three goals at the moment hopefully they will make me feel better about myself. More goals to come.

Take care and have a good day.

    Hi Bitsy

Mum is doing ok, she is quite bright and chirpy, she is still confined to her home, but is showing small signs of improvement in her right side. She has lost all her hair from the radiotherapy, but other than that she looks quite good, she has a lot of colour in her face. Dad has come to terms with everything and they have both got into a good routine.

Mum and dad normally come to us for xmas day, and I think mum really wanted to come, but Dad has said no, so luckily we only live about 2 mins drive away, so I will make them up a dinner and take that round and then we will all go round in the afternoon, with my brother and his family, and I will then take them some tea round. Will spoil them as well.

    Thanks for asking xxx

  • Thank you for the welcome Bitsy Bean.

Right make up and perfume on, heading for the shops for my Christmas food shop.
Husband has just commented "why are you wearing make up to the shops?"
Because I want to I replied.

    Feeling better already. x

How about simply hugging just one person each day? A hug says a thousand things words sometimes cannot
    Growing old disgracefully!

I had a thought about doing this while walking up to Mr S this morning. Think I will write one next week when I'm back in work and take some details from the brochure about the let down about the whole night.

I keep checking it, the floor is dampening and last night before I went out I moved 2 things upstairs so they don't get ruined and everything else is ok in there as they're still raised up from last time. Hoping it doesn't get any worse as its rained non stop for 3 days now here at least.

Hope everyone else is safe and dry
