Let us know how you get on with the new stuff fedupandskint - we're (I'm!) nosey to know what you've bought. :)

Welcome cat! We're not into booting but group hugs and lots of encouragement here. But if you insist, you're formally booted! Now get moving and report back. :)

Morning All. Having read through most of this thread I am totally inspired by the honesty and courage of you all. My goals for the next few months are:

    1. To lose another stone - play my Paul McKenna CDs daily, use the journal and follow the golden rules.
    2. To walk daily, even if its just round the block.
    3. To do a yoga session daily. I want to get back into the habit of doing this each morning before work, with longer sessions at the weekends.
    4. Get back into regular fabbing. Especially in the evenings - I often leave it so late before I go to bed I just want to hit the pillow rather than cleansing my face first.
    5. Watch less TV. Do more with my life than watching TV - looking to find a local charity to volunteer with and want to get involved with more things locally.

I am heading out today to visit Perth in Scotland. I would like to relocate to there within the next few years, or sooner if I can afford it.
Welcome aboard :) I love having the TV off. It helps me think. But hubby loves the TV so on it goes. But there's nothing to stop me nipping upstairs to do a bit of fabbing or meditation.

Well today went well. mum is in a hospice about an hour's drive away. it's a lovely place. so clean the staff are fantastic and very caring (to us as well as mum) the food smelt wonderful and from mums look on her face tasted as good as it smelt. we have also found out that we can order food to, so in the future dad has decided that he will visit in the morning order some lunch and eat with mum and then when she has her sleep go on home. he doesn't like driving in the dark so that will suit him fine. he can now go back to being her husband and not her carer. dad is having a day off tomorrow and coming with us to spend the day with my brother. think it will do him good. my uncle will visit mum tomorrow.

in the next couple of weeks we will look at a nursing home nearer to us but for now the hospice is just great.

once again thanks for all your best wishesxxx

I am so pleased that your mum is now in a hospice.
I had a lot of dealings with our local hospices and I have nothing but praise and admiration for them. As you say, the staff take the whole family under there wings as much as they can.
I know your mum will have the best care that is available to her.
If I ever won the lottery the Macmillans would be at the top of my donation list.

Ok I am going to post some of my goals here and some I am going to keep just for me ;)

    Beauty Fabbing
    • Cleanse/tone/moisturise every night
    • Face mask weekly
    • Body scrub weekly
    • Moisturise after bath/shower
    • Perfume everyday
    • Makeup when I feel the urge

    Body Fabbing
    • Lose 1-2lbs per week
    • Exercise for 30 mins at least 3x per week
    • Stick to daily calorie limit
    • 5-7 portions of fruit and veg everyday

I have also thought about how to make my family, home and financial life even better and it has made me feel positive about the future. Even if I only stick to one or two my life will be better :D

    Hi all,

WW - good advice, I gave myself a kick and went out for a walk this afternoon, started raining heavily so did cut it a bit short but feel better for getting out for a bit at least.

Am going to try and get some editing work done now for at least an hour. Only have 3 days after today before I go back to work and haven't got any of the stuff I wanted to done so bit of a blitz needed the next few days I think. Need to get a decent shop in as well, stopped at the corner shop on the way home and they had no fresh stuff in so need a trip to the supermarket before can sort a healthy meal plan for the week.

Now I am sitting here at past midnight and can't sleep. Oh, well good a time as any to read over the thread.

Wish I had know, we could have 'chatted' :rotfl::rotfl:

My sleep pattern has been all askew for the past week *sleepy shrug*

Another one with a restless night:o

Had a cracking day, went over to the new house with another car load. Switched the heating on, nice and toasty:D and then spent a couple of hours unloading some boxes and putting stuff away.

It's starting to look like home already, a few ornaments put out, a couple of plants and most of my clothes, linens, dvds. etc all put away. Have made a start on the kitchen, washed all the units down and started putting stuff away. Having the overlap of a couple of weeks is certainly making the move a lot easier.

I am extremely tired now and my poor back is killing me - time for a nap.....

Tomorrow I will need to do some food shopping - just a few bits to last this week - so I will take some more bags to the charity shop.

I will need to do another major de-clutter once we have moved in though.

At the moment my de-cluttering is mainly charity shop stuff and trips to the tip. After the move the de-clutter will be things I would like to try and sell so I can make a bit of money.

As for fabbing - well today it's been joggy bottoms and an old fleece. Plus my black eye is coming along nicely, very sore so no make up. :o I did wash and style my hair though, so not all bad.

BTW - welcome to all the newbies.

Lot of great goals and some fantastic positivity here.

    Ladies 2013 is looking fab.

    Lizzie,
Pleased to 'hear' you are sounding more positive for 2013.
I concur with all the useful advice given, now you just need to be strong and put it into practice. I will not be easy, you will have good days and bad days but, just keep going, you will make it because you seem stronger now than when you very first posted here.

Welcome aylithuk (good goals) & cat

Rummer, Good goals, keep up the good work, smaller goals are easier to achieve.

Esmy, I lost nearly 3 stone after the first year on this thread. Posting regularly and support from all the ladies made it easier than I imagined. Remember 1lb a week amounts to three and half stone a year! Bad days happen ( I had plenty) forget them and move on, never feel you have failed. Sorry if I am preaching the obvious.

The weather has been lovely this weekend so took advantage of getting plenty of logs cut for the fire.actually I kinda supervised :rotfl: because of gippy shoulder, which is so much better :D
I did just manage to rake up the last of the leaves in the garden which are now just a pile of ash:j

I also made some healthy coleslaw, I like it on jacket potatoes.

    Twinnie, you are moving house??

Enjoy the rest of your evening ladies.

    Yes, exciting or what:rotfl:.

I put my house on the market just to "dip my toe", thinking it would take a year or so to sell. It sold in 3 weeks, much to my surprise and delight.

So rather than risk losing the sale we decided to vacate and rent for a while.

After 24.5 years here it's quite an adventure. We legally complete on 9th January but will physically move out on the 4th. Then it will be time for a rest.

We have a six month lease with a monthly roll-over. My final monies will not be in place until July when my endowments kick in, so it's all come together beautifully. I can start house-hunting in the summer, although I am sort of keeping an eye on Rightmove :rotfl:

New year, new house, new adventures.

Bitsy - I spotted this list of challenges for 2013. https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/4363397
Didn't want to suggest our thread/challenge as you're our Lady in charge to do such things :) So I thought I'd flag it up. :j
