Hey guys. I'd like to join in please :)

Got a few goals I'd like to achieve by the 1/04/13 and beyond
1, Lose about 10lbs to take me back to 9 stone and lose some of my body fat. Will do this by healthy eating and exercise.
2, Learn to use my electric toothbrush correctly as I seem to be missing spots on my back teeth
3, Paint my nails at least once a month
4, Make sure I cleanse and moisturize everyday without fail
5, Get my eyebrows threaded when they start to grow out - Really lazy with this cus I have a fringe.

Think that will do for now but I am thinking about a diary of some kind for the weight lost so I have a kind of accountability to keep me in check. Not sure if to put it in this forum or the fitness forum

    Any thoughts?

    Afternoon all.

Well, I got on the scales this morning and I'm going to put my weight at the bottom of this post, just to shame myself into doing something about it. I've crept up a dress size in the last year but as I'm quite tall I can carry it off..(most of the time!). I've defuzzed today ready for swimming tomorrow and my new costume pulls my tummy in a bit so I shouldn't frighten the children when we go tomorrow. Lots of whoopsies at the supermarket today so have bought loads of fruit and veg, including 10 limes - no idea what to do with them other than put them in Gin - any healthier ideas welcome!

    14st 7lbs!!!!!

emsy, best of luck with your weight loss! I was 16 st 3 llbs and have now lost around stone. Will be seeing 14 on the scales again very soon and am looking forward to it!!

Have not read over new thread yet or come up with any goals myself. Been feeling very low and tired over the past few days - my get up and go has gone. Now I am sitting here at past midnight and can't sleep. Oh, well good a time as any to read over the thread.

Lizzie, best of luck with the dog walking. You have lots of support from the lovely people on this thread though, which is great.

Morning all! I'm another with poor sleep last night but on the positive side all the tossing and turning and hot flushes have resulted in my overdue period arriving - hurrah! I always feel better once its here. Seemed to wee constantly yesterday and feel a lot flatter today so had another sneaky weigh and am down another lb - just shows that a lot of the bloatedness was just water. 2lbs in 2 days - not even the best dieter could lose that in 2 days:rotfl:Getting back towards my pre December weight now but I think the water loss has more or less stopped now so its flab fighting rather than the "wee yourself thin diet" now! ;)

I started using a new night cream last night (one of my downfalls is taking off make up and cleansing etc) - hoping that I can keep it up.

Right ladies - the weather is a little bit better today, its a Sunday and its not too cold so why don't we all make the effort to get out for a walk today? A bit of fresh air and exercise will blow away the cobwebs. Just 30 mins (or as much as you can manage) will be enough to do some good, think of the endorphins that will flood through your body once you get going! Get your coat on and just go for a wander - I'm going to walk my dog this morning and then this afternoon will go again with the "hip-op dog" too.

I'm also planning a run - just 5km, will start upping the distance from this week but need to try to get through the 5km a bit faster too.

Right, off for some brekkie and to get the dog out while its still dry. Have a good day.
  • WW-Enjoy your walk :) I agree- it really is a beautiful crisp morning here. On weekend days like this my guilty pleasure is to lay in bed with a hot drink and the curtains open feeling the fresh air :) Ahh simple pleasures.

All the best of luck to those with weight loss goals- I genuinely think this time of year makes you so fed up of fatty food and excess it really is a great impetus to kickstart a healthy habit.

I went to the cinema last night for the first time in ages and really loved it, a great thing to do when you've been wallowing in self pity as you can't help but focus on something else for a while.

I made a dentist appointment to get my tooth worries checked out... have no idea what she will say. They all seemed to start after I went to see her last and had a filling done (my first ever!) I've had sensitivity and bleeding gums and generally an unpleasant taste in my mouth. Whatever it is I have a feeling it won't be cheap to rectify!

Have a lovely day all, keep your peckers up and keep fabbing :)

  • Morning All. Having read through most of this thread I am totally inspired by the honesty and courage of you all. My goals for the next few months are:

    1. To lose another stone - play my Paul McKenna CDs daily, use the journal and follow the golden rules.
    2. To walk daily, even if its just round the block.
    3. To do a yoga session daily. I want to get back into the habit of doing this each morning before work, with longer sessions at the weekends.
    4. Get back into regular fabbing. Especially in the evenings - I often leave it so late before I go to bed I just want to hit the pillow rather than cleansing my face first.
    5. Watch less TV. Do more with my life than watching TV - looking to find a local charity to volunteer with and want to get involved with more things locally.

I am heading out today to visit Perth in Scotland. I would like to relocate to there within the next few years, or sooner if I can afford it.
  • Hi

Just a quick note. I'm busy researching info re jobs. Thanks for all the input - it really helps. I do walk for 2+ hrs with my dog most days, and do yoga once a week. I think the lack of structure to the xmas holidays has affected me somewhat, need to get back to my lists and make better use of my time. Have finished my OU assignment so that's a start.

Great walk with the dog. Very cold but dry.

Done some grooming/fabbing today - bit more filing/smoothing my feet (can't use any of those tools too harshly in one sitting so I done a bit more today). Found a nail smoother and gave my nails a blitz with that.

House fabbing - thinking now that whenver I'm on here I should at least have the WM on. So that's on and the DW. Also put some Mr Muscl% down the sink.

Eating fabbing - borrowed Nigelissima from the library. All lovely looking stuff but I thought overall a bit rich and so it's immediately going to go back. I have the Hairy Bikers healthier eating recipe book (also borrowed from the library) so that's the better stuff to focus on.

So in relation to these habits below I'm not doing too bad. Juice day will be tomorrow and I need to buy some fruit tomorrow too. Baby steps :j
    - do a 5 minute groom/pamper every day. Today was filing my feet! And a couple of physio exercises.
    - eat fruit. Forget 5 a day, 1 is a miracle. We do eat lots of veg. So I'm starting small to eat just 1/2 to begin with.
    - today is juice day. I will eat normally too. But will make up some fresh juices to feed my body with nutrition.
    - dog walk
    .

Once I've cracked these then I'll add something else.

Well done Lizzie on your progress, taking action, any action, is the way to go :j

I went out at 8am on a nice brisk cold windy walk with the dog around the nature reserve and then on the way back the sun came out and wind subsided.

Managed to get most of the clothes dry on the line on this windy day too, swept and mopped the floors which are drying and then its onto the ironing for half an hour or so then out with the dog again for his medium length walk.

Weather dependent tomorrow is either a run or I will do the Shred again - either one is fine by me and then one more on New Year's Day too.

Had my final seasonal hot chocolate today - they are quite expensive but hey, only had 3 over December so not too bad and from then will be back to coffee's once a fortnight. Also while in town picked up my favourite body butter on offer and finally found the facial serum I wanted at long last and will be trying that out later on. Loving the bargain skincare at the moment - its all going well and reminding there is no reason for me to go back to the expensive ranges just yet

Right off now to total up my walking kcals burnt off - back later!

I'd like to join in too if I may? I feel like I've let myself go quite a lot recently and have got into a real rut. It's a case of dragging myself out of it now, as I feel like it could quite easily spiral into depression

I don't need to lose weight as such but have stopped most of my exercise recently as I 'can't be bothered'. This is self defeating as I feel much better if I make some effort. Likewise fabbing...... I just can't get motivated

So today after reading this thread I got out in the fresh air for a couple of hours. Which helped a bit :)Now off to dye my hair as badger style stripe has grown well past where I usually do it. no idea why I haven't done it, especially as its been christmas:o

I think you hit the nail on the head Lizzie when you mentioned routines.....mine has gone to hell in a handcart recently and I now have no direction and no motivation. Everything is always 'tomorrow':o so this evenings plan is to set up a proper housework routine and find some stuff to do during the daytime more regularly.

then all I need to do is follow through. Boot up rear may well be required! any volunteers?:D
