Universal Jobmatch - Mandatory from next year
Comments
-
So I signed on today and was asked did I know about the universal jobmatch site which I said yes I'm already signed up and have applied for fair few jobs already on there, to which his faced picked up and replied 'oh what's you're 16 digit login number? I said I didn't know it off by heart which I genuinely didn't so then he asked me for my email address which I reluctantly gave him as I just couldn't be bothered piping up and making a scence about data protection etc as it was busy. Will they now be able to look at my profile just from knowing my email address??
No they can only look at your profile/job search history after you tick the little box giving them permission to view.0 -
I signed on in December after UJM went live. I did register for the site but after reading on the net about it I decided not to give access. My advisor looked at me at my next appointment and asked why I haven't given acesss? I said I didn't have to..........he then told me to go and login to it at the new jobcentre pc's they have and PRINTOUT my job searches...I said I dont have to do that as I have written them down in the booklet they give........I've actually unregistered to UJB until they issue a Direction...what gets to me is that the new UJM system seems to be the only place to actively seek work - what about newspapers, emailing employers and using other jobsites on the net etc...that is still is a step to find work.0

Treat UJM the same as you would your written daily job search. If you look on other sites or in newspapers for work record it on your UJM Job Search Notes.0 -
I agree liberys are using windows xp which have had no security updates from microsoft for over 5 years, so it is bent over ready to be shafted
.............about 2 years ago I was called into a small room at the jobcentre and the pc was still using Win2000 pro!! actually, I think the jobcentres now are still using xp.0 -

...I'd love to use Universal JobMatch/Snoop in this way but i'll use it logged out for the moment whilst non-employers can register and see people's CV's.
..........but I cant apply for jobs without logging in.0 -

There was a bloke on this site who showed what he had done - got something like 80 cvsWe’ve had to remove your signature. Please check the Forum Rules if you’re unsure why it’s been removed and, if still unsure, email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
This site has nothing to do with trying to find vacancies for jobseekers.
It has one aim, and that is to find a way to sanction you.
If you listened to IDS you would know this. Here is a thread which he states that he will try to trip up anyone who gives the dwp permission to see their ujm data.
http://metro.co.uk/2012/12/20/log-on-or-stop-signing-on-iain-duncan-smith-says-in-warning-to-job-seekers-3326097/
That looks to me like Metro made a typo and it should say:-
'But Mr Duncan Smith told Metro NOT doing so would be a ‘trip wire’ which would flag up to a job centre that they may not be looking hard enough for work.'
Reading the rest of the interview it sounds as though he is saying if you don't allow dwp access, then there must be a reason, and they'll assume it's because you're not looking for work enough.
'‘I’m a job adviser and I’ve got someone who doesn’t want to do this. I will haul them in a lot,’ he said.'
I do agree though that certain things, like the reasons for not applying for a job, appear to be designed especially to catch someone out. There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.0 -

CVs can be made public or private, if I remember correctly you can only have 1 CV public at a time.0 -
Well has anyone heard the latest news today that from next year people who are on Jobseekers will have to sign up to UJM if they refuse then they benefits will be stopped!
Can't seem to post the link as its says I am new however go to google or go to Telegraph.
It seems the goverment want to monitor people's accounts to see if they trying hard to find work!
The jobcentre on the whole have been far from helpfull as i've been unemployed since september 2012. Plus the universal jobmatch site is unreliable full of bug's. My profile was wiped off after two day's. I don't use it anymore. Thinking of eneding my JSA soon anyway, there a joke:mad:0
