That looks to me like Metro made a typo and it should say:-

'But Mr Duncan Smith told Metro NOT doing so would be a ‘trip wire’ which would flag up to a job centre that they may not be looking hard enough for work.'

Reading the rest of the interview it sounds as though he is saying if you don't allow dwp access, then there must be a reason, and they'll assume it's because you're not looking for work enough.

'‘I’m a job adviser and I’ve got someone who doesn’t want to do this. I will haul them in a lot,’ he said.'

I do agree though that certain things, like the reasons for not applying for a job, appear to be designed especially to catch someone out.
I think the DWP are acting like a personal details broker

I seem to be getting a load of spam emails with many full name on since putting my CV up on ujm

At the moment it is not mandatory but you can still register on the ujm site, but do not tick the little box giving the dwp access to your personal data.

    Letter from dwp. http://consent.me.uk/universaljobmatch/mandatory/
I have seen the screen all they can see is your activity and add to it, they already have your personal data on the system which is visible to them when they bring up your details.

what you want to do block the cookies but if you do that you wont be able to log on

...I'd love to use Universal JobMatch/Snoop in this way but i'll use it logged out for the moment whilst non-employers can register and see people's CV's.
..........but I cant apply for jobs without logging in.
yes you can just google the company name and apply directly, dont bother applying for the company confidential with no contact details because chances are your junk box will be s#!tted in

also who has had an increase of spam in their junk boxes since posting their CV's on universal data harvest?

The original guidance was that if a customer sets up an account, but doesn't allow JCP access, you could be asked to log-in to your account on a JCP computer (to prove you have one and show your activity) or an adviser could ask for evidence of sent emails to prove you are actually applying for jobs.

This whole UJ guidance is presumably being re-written for the new year.
good luck in remembering a random 12 digit number

Hi, can someone help me to understand this. I got a letter back regarding the decision maker and me not wanting to sign up.

Letter says they cannot pay me jobseekers allowance from 30 nov 2012 to 27 december because my reason was not good enough.

It also says national contribution credits cannot be awarded for that period.

Thing is I have had two payments since that date...so I am confused.
you just been hit with the sanction hammer. were you directed to register with umj?

you should of got three letters in between the unessery padding you should find the following

1st will tell you that the cant pay you

2nd will tell you that you have been sanctioned

3rd will tell you the same as 2nd but with an extra sentence stating that they have sanctioned you following a decision

I suggest you appeal ask them for proof and under what law they have sanctioned you

Anyone who thinks living on 71 quid a week, or 3700 a year, is a comfy lifestyle, they should try it.

Treat UJM the same as you would your written daily job search. If you look on other sites or in newspapers for work record it on your UJM Job Search Notes.
Better yet, don't use UJM and don't let the DWP track you with cookies and internet snooping. This system is just asking people to put themseklves in line for a sanction. You can still search the site and, in many cases, still apply for jobs. But the site is grotesquely designed and horrendously insecure, nevermind that the unemployed aren't there to be spied on.
  • It is ironic the government would seek to increase jobseeking obligations when the combined number of people unemployed and underemployed is probably at its highest ever.

The feedback I've got on the quality of applicants through jobcentre websites is very poor. People making applications irrelevant to the qualifications required, and few turning up for interview. In fact I'd say its success rate is worth than that of other websites because people are coerced into using it.

The HP operating system is based on the webOS it acquired from Palm, two years ago. Few people use it as it was only installed on a few items of HP hardware. It is now known as Open webOS.

Seems George was trying to save some cash. There are no training courses available. For anyone who has no choice, but to use these machines. The only way you are going to learn to use it, is by trial and error.
