We could be attending a funeral this week if things went another way but thank God it didn't.

People like this remind me why I like to spend less time around people and more alone working from home self employed. I have had my fill of people over the last 20 years. And for your interest I am not a she.

The police didn't turn up to my mother's yesterday or today as they said.

Also, the guy was in shock that he did this and being human (which I am sure he is) he showed emotion BUT he was still eager to get away. He even offered to pay my Mum's petrol. I would like to think he is an honorable person who made a forgivable mistake but it is always best to call the police when there is an accident or am I wrong ? IF he is innocent he has nothing to worry about. Just a pure accident.

As for the guy who hit the OP's mum writing down his reg in illegible handwriting......being in an accident can trigger shock/adrenaline. Which would make neat handwriting impossible. Not everyone can think clearly while in shock either. Some people go into automatic mode and know exactly what to do, others panic or are clueless. Doesnt make them a bad person or shady. Just human.

Think they have better things to do.
So far there is nobody hurt apart from a bit of a bruise and virtually no chance of a conviction.

Erm... The guy hit a person with his car... A conviction would be handed on a plate, probably for driving with undue care and attention. Points and a fine at least.

Not sure why the police wouldn't be interested... If ops mum pursued it

Completely wrong. Negligence or intent would need to be PROVEN before any conviction. Just because a car comes into contact with a pedestrian, there is legally no assumption of blame or fault.

Well it's the third day and the police have still not come after expressing concern and stating how serious it was. To me a pedestrian being hit by a car not being taken seriously is serious. My mum isn't one to make a fuss as you know but she is quite upset and very sore. If I had knocked a person over by mistake I would be wanting to make sure they were ok. I would have phoned the police myself but that's me and not this guy.

It's not urgent though is it. I would suggest the weekend before Xmas they are very busy.

It's also not the polices job to make sure she is ok. If she is not ok she should go to the hospital or doctor.

Was your mum knocked up into the air, as you claimed in your first post, or knocked over as you claim in this one?
.................:)....I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)

Has she been for a check up yet? I would have thought that that was the priority.

If it was my parent that this happened to I would be more concerned about their health.

Have you taken your mother to the hospital to be checked over yet?

I would use my energy in that direction rather than posting on a forum.
