At work today it died after half six. Not many customers bought newspapers as I sort out the unsold papers. Normally there are only Suns and no DMs. There was 67 Suns and 34 DMs - what we normally return over 3 weeks!
People are too busy to read papers0 -
not that, just as popular to check online nowadays0

Funnily enough I bought a DM yesterday and never bother with newspapers normally. I like to have a printed TV guide over Christmas and New Year as I find it easier to plan my viewing over the holiday period.0

Today customers were whinging and moaning about us unable to serve before 10am and it took about 5 or 6 tannoy announcements that we were closed.
What I suggested earlier on in another post on this thread is relaxation of the Sunday trading laws, I would like a partial relaxation of them. If Sunday fulls on 22nd or 23rd Dec, instead of 6 hours of trade, 8 hours of trade. If it falls on Christmas Eve, close at 4pm but open at 8am.0 -

That used to annoy me on normal sundays too, sometimes we would let customers in 10 mins early so they could get out of the rain and all they would do is moan about us not serving them until 10am.0 -
That must be annoying, Scotland don't have the sunday trading restrictions, just no alcohol before 10am everyday. I was surprised at how quiet the shops were, having said that I did go early this morning to avoid the madness!0

I think many of the shoppers yesterday have never ventured to the shops on a Sunday (well for several years) and never understood the law.0 -
Abel & Cole turned up just before 9am with everything ordered:Tso that has saved us from the nightmare.0
