in Gone off!
decided to have time off work yesturday ( own boss:D) to do a bit of shopping, and yep the madness has started...
people with full trollies, moaning at the use by dates on the fresh stuff.. and clogging up those isles by leaving their trollies everywhere...
alot of people have said their were going to do their main shop on friday, and just use monday/tuesday as a top up shop
so take care out there.... and dont buy things that you 'think' you must have in the fridge/cupboard just because its christmas....
its only one day....
dont you just love christmas:rotfl:

Moaning about the dates ... well it is days before Christmas day.
I tend to get all but fresh well in advance and then the last minutes stuff about two days before when there is ample date for the day (anything more than that can be purchased a few days after, shops are only closed for a very brief period).Everything has its beauty but not everyone sees it.0 -
Sunday will be a nightmare, I suspectWarning ..... I'm a peri-menopausal axe-wielding maniac0

I was surprised at how quiet things were in Harrod's and even in Oxford St yesterday. We were there to see Father Christmas, no queues to speak of. Walking around Harrod's, my husband commented that there was no lack of staff as so many assistants were just standing around.
I am leaving my food shopping till Monday as I am not doing anything special on Christmas day. We could eat out of the freezer or (hopefully) the Waitrose hamper, if and when it arrives. We have our big family meal (me cooking) on the 29th so I will be looking out for good deals then.0 -
I have never ever understood why people think that on certain days of the year that they have to buy so much food and stuff - often on a just in case someone pops round for a visit basis. Most of it will probably get chucked out, so wasting loads of dosh in these hard times. I have had a policy now for some time, that I buy enough food for 1 week or so and when it is gone and used I will then go and do a food shop - usually on line as it seems to stop most of the food grazing irrationality that occurs in supermarket. Wake up and get real. If I do go to the actual shop I take a list and only buy what is on that, occasionally substituting as something not in stock. I spend approx an average of £50-£60 on food/week for 3 adults and rarely chuck stuff out.0

People like to treat themselves, and their family once in a blue moon. There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.0 -
I've just been to MrA to get a prescription so thought I'd have a wander round while it was getting filled.
Not too bad customer wise but every isle just about was blocked by a member of staff doing someones online shopping.
The guy who dumped his big trolly thing in front of the whoopsie fridge and wandered off was not popular:rotfl::rotfl:
I admit to buying cream and some puff pastry0 -

Thank you for that, wont bother going shpping then, BUT on the other hand if today is my last day, then might go and buy everything I am not supposed to eat, chocolates, sweets biscuits, cream cakes, my last meal would be steak baked potato and salad, sod it I will have chips as well, for afters a whole 16 portion strawberry trifle with a pint of double cream.
Will have several Irish coffees using a whole bottle of whiskey.
I will then be so sick tommorow that I wont care what happpens
