  • Just got back in after doing my 'big' Christmas shop. It was lovely and quiet. No queues. Clear aisles. And, I was able to get everything - including the turkey - in one trip. Perfect. :)

Wife started work at 7am this morning at Tesco, the car park was absolutely full with people queuing ? what is it about christmas that send people into a frenzy over shops being closed for one day ?
  • I was at Tescos after work last night, 10pm, you should have seen the trolleys coming out, piled so high!!! I only went in for a pressie for the next door neighbour, the Christmas ailse looked like it had been ransacked!!!

decided to have time off work yesturday ( own boss:D) to do a bit of shopping, and yep the madness has started...

people with full trollies, moaning at the use by dates on the fresh stuff.. and clogging up those isles by leaving their trollies everywhere...

alot of people have said their were going to do their main shop on friday, and just use monday/tuesday as a top up shop

so take care out there.... and dont buy things that you 'think' you must have in the fridge/cupboard just because its christmas....

    its only one day....

    dont you just love christmas:rotfl:

I thought I was going mad when I read this - nearly had a heart attack, thinking I'd planned the week all wrong! Tuesday IS christmas day isn't it?

I actually think I could manage until Thurs w/o a big Christmas shop - even though my fridge looks pretty empty atm, my freezer and cupboards have plenty of goodies.

But then I'm not one for the traditional Christmas lunch.

I've done everything - well, no I haven't but I've done all I'm going to do. No more shopping - I don't intend leaving the house until Boxing Day. I don't even care if the bread is a bit stale, tough, don't eat it if you don't like it!
  • I'm going to do the rounds of all my local supermarkets on Xmas eve for bargains. I don't need anything so it'll be quite relaxed for me.

Whats this thing with people buying obscene amounts of milk? Many supermarkets are closed for ONE day! My parents and I only consume about a pint of milk over two days for cups of tea at breakfast and the mid morning coffee.

A colleague has 12 over and they use three pints.

I like to have enough to be sure that I don't have to go anywhere near a supermarket during the mayhem that is the run up to Christmas!

But I drink a lot of tea :o
