Ahhh crap. Can't find his details on the gas safe register, and the number on his business card is 6 digits not 7 as it asks for on the website.
I got his contact details from the manufacturer's website though, not really sure where to go from here!
you phone gas safe & tell them about it & the fact you can't find him, but before you do there are two options on the gas safe web site, check an installer which is his card number (that changes every year) & check a business which is his permenant reg number, so make sure you are putting his number in the right bit, his number in the check a business could be any amount of numbers
(maybe i should have looked at page two before posting the above
) I'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.
You get no BS from me & if I think you are wrong I WILL tell you.0 -
I find it difficult to believe that a manufacturer would sanction using an installer who wasn't registered. Clearly they do sanction him as his details are on their webby. Go back to them and ask them to chase him up.I got his contact details from the manufacturer's website though, not really sure where to go from here!

I'd still "go" nowhere.
Getting another GS guy to sign it off is a possibility, but
(a) few are likely to be prepared to do it, and
(b) when they will charge more than is expected to cover their risk, and finally
(c) when the guy does eventually turn up/invoice for the money, (which he is still most likely to do), you will have to pay in full, including for the other signing off.;);)I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

Why? - sunds like a cowboy. You don't pay until the job has been done which encludes registration as there is no way you know he is legit until it appears on the web site.Do you want your money back, and a bit more, search for 'money claim online' - They don't like it up 'em Captain Mainwaring0

Have you paid him anything at all for the installation?
If I were a plumber I would have charged you part on supply of the unit, then charge the rest on completion and that includes the registration.
If youv'e paid nothing it would be at least fair to pay 50% now and the rest when he hands over the paperwork.
1 of the GS guys will be along to tell you how they work.
I wouldn't want his "extended guarantee" full stop.I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

Then, why has he waited so long to start the registration process? If he'd started that when you first posted (let alone the two months previously when he'd finished the job), it would all be done by now (or seven weeks ago if... etc).
I would be very cautious of paying before everything is completed, and I'd explain that the delay in him finishing the paperwork has caused you considerable concern. When all is finished & registered, I'd be content to pay. (I probably wouldn't have been as cautious if he'd finished the job, started the registration, then asked for payment.. I'd have paid him straight out).
Also "won't register until you've paid me" amounts to (almost) blackmail in my book. Equally, I wouldn't be that worried about his cash flow situation if he can just vanish without chasing payment for near on 3 months.0
