This is a money saving site, do not force him to charge you, he might even forget and that's worth more than the warranty.
Forget the date, they always have the serial number to refer back too.
PS you will get a bill, don't chase it, but don't pay it before the warranty details have been finalised.
Apologies to all our pro friends but if someone is lethargic in closing the transaction why should the op chase them.
You won't believe this but 15 years ago we had a great short notice hol in Lanzarote courtesy of a teletext add, even better they never invoiced the the debit card, did I chase them? You guess.;);)I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed0 -
But every new boiler has a manufacturer's warranty of at least 2 years, some up to 7 years-you don't have to pay anything at all for that!
So this sets alarm bells ringing...
Did the installer complete and hand over the Benchmark documentation? Has the boiler been reg'd for Building Control?
Is the installer GSR-did you check his reg?
Without the proper documentation and registration, any warranty will be void.No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -

Although I presume there are safety issues etc involved here so the OP really should get that sorted out and pay up if and when all the required paperwork etc is done properly.0 -

You will get nowhere with the manufacturer, since their warranty is dependent on the installer complying with the regs. No Benchmark, no GSR, no warranty,.
Start with the basics. Check the installer's GSR reg, check if he is even still trading. Then give him 14 days in writing to to comply.
You should not be paying him anyway until the paperwork has been done.
Completing the Benchmark retrospectively is not acceptable practice. No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
So what is the cost of not paying for a boiler?
Not getting a warranty?
I'll give a clue, it's less than doing those 2;););););)
Ok, It's hypothetical but no bill =:D:D:D:D

Well obviously the short term benefit is considerable. But if there is a problem within the warranty period, then the OP will be paying for any work required. And if the boiler has not been reg'd and they want to sell the house in the next few years, then that will also be an issue.
Apart from the above, would you really want to trust the work of an installer who has not followed any of the required procedures, nor even got round to invoicing the job?
If he has ceased trading, then sooner or later the administrators will be chasing up his debtors. No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -

And would they question the cash in hand payment that the OP had paid???
Sorry again, but the little man economy works like this, cash in hand blah di blah.
But we are off track, no one leaves without racking off the prems??I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

What cash in hand payment? The OP says that he has paid nothing on this job, not even a deposit. No free lunch, and no free laptop0
