I'm a recent convert to Tesco Value Cola - 17p for a 2 litre bottle. I have a veritable stash for Christmas. Personally I think it's far better quality than the cheap Aldi cola, I tried it and threw it down the sink it was so manky. This is yum though and will go very nicely with my uber-cheap Voddy on Boxing Day :T
Incidentally, on the subject of uber-cheap, does anybody remember the infamous baked bean wars of '96? Supermarkets ended up paying customers 2p to take away their cans. I still get a bit irked now when I have to pay more than 6p when I think back to those times!
In our house, when things break, we just pretend they still work0 -
Not immediately edible but..............
In the New Year stores will start to bring out the seed packets. Lidl does a half decent range for 29p and their 49p packs of peas and beans are the best value anywhere. Decent numbers of seeds in each pack too.If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -
I rarely buy branded stuff any more unless it is cheap in B&M
Most of our shopping is done in Aldi these days and we only go to Asda for things that we can't get in there such as lift lemon tea for DH and DS prefers their Malted wheats to Aldi ones.
Aldi yeast is far better than Allison's branded yeast so I have changed to that now. If I am really naughty I get a little fresh yeast from Asda bakery, which is usually freebut you don't get given a lot, still it is free so who is complaining.
We like basic peaches and cake mix with a packet of instant basic custard.Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

I also use soap in the bath or shower, rather than shower gel or bubble bath, you cab get 3 or 4 bars in a supermarket pack for about 45p. I also use cheap baby shampoo or shower gel in hand wash dispensers in the bath room and kitchen. These cost well under 50p and last for ages.

I always use value baby shampoo mixed with a little water in hand soap dispensers! My DD has a reaction to some soaps and never has with the cheap baby shampoos, plus being kids they like to use a lot :cool: which bothers me a lot less when I am paying 12p for 3 refills. I also use value baby bath in their baths (and mine!). Both are always well under 50p.

Think I'm going to have to start doing this. I don't have kids but we seem to always have guests over who like to use a lot of soap!Emergency Fund - £8572.39 / £10,000 :: Mortgage OP 2025 - £LISA 24/25 - £3200 / £4000 :: NSD 2025 - 2 / 150 :: Books Read: 1 / 52 :: Decluttering - 4 / 1000Engaged 9th December 2010 :: Married 29th October 2015 :: Bought a House 13th January 20170 -
