I'm new to the value line of products, but I LOVE the value cornflakes (under 40p at Tesco and Asda). Can't beat the price of value pasta too!

Tescos value tomato puree. Good for adding to a lot of stewed meat dishes and to curries. Also to cheese and toast with mixed herbs (Tescos value mixed herbs cost well under 50p).

Just looked in larder and saw "Sainsbury" on mixed herbs container :o:o.

Should have said just own-brand mixed herbs. A fraction of the cost of the branded mixed herbs. Also mixed herbs are very much cheaper than individual herbs for some reason.

Aldi budget pasta used to be 1kg for 59p now 500g for 29p - we cook it for the greyhounds as well as a filler - they need less protein than other dogs.

KtC tomatos and chick peas, 33p but quite often on offer at 4 for 1.00.
Branston beans when 4 for 1.00
    Smart price brown sauce 30p
    Smart price mixed pickle 26p
    Slimming World at target
  • I like Mr T value wholemeal bread too, once it's toasted and spread with marge and marmalade it tastes just as nice as a more expensive brand.

I don't eat the value Yorkshire puds but my hubbie eats them and my dog have the occasional one as a treat.:D

Sainsbug's cat litter is quite good value and the cats don't make a mess with it like they do the Mr T one.
  • I like Asda Smart Price macaroni cheese (in a tin - good lazy standby!) for 40p - pretty good and tastes the same as branded ones to me (and has less salt and sugar if I remember correctly...).

My first post, by the way... hellooo from a long-time lurker!!
