I've always wondered who buys branded malt vinegar - does it really have a discernibly nicer taste or anything (as it's a lot more expensive).

Though you do need to check that your (cheap) vinegar is actually vinegar and not just ascetic acid aka "non brewed condiment".

You need branded vinegar when you lose the bottle you decant the value stuff into :p

I also use fairy usually on offer from amazon, we had a oil container leak in our garden and i used it yesterday with the hose to scrub it after my hubby had been trying to clear it with just water for half an hr, it did a brilliant job :)

I use expensive sensitive toothpaste, i was always under the impresion all toothpastes were the same because none of the other well known sensitive toothpastes didn't help, but my dentist gave me a sample of pro-releif and i never looked back, but i buy the kids value toothpaste as they prefer the milder taste, my youngested hates all strong minty toothpaste so he still has kids stuff which i get in b&m/poundland/home bargains.

I agree with the toothpaste I tried Asda's sensitive stuff and it did work (compared to regular toothpaste) but my dentist recommended Sensodyne, so I tried it and it is much, much better than the Asda stuff.

Fairy makes my dermatitis flare up. I like Tesco concentrated. I only use one squirt and nice hot water.

Fairy washing up liquid and washing powder gives me and my daughter an awful reaction! Gentle my !!!!!!

My chip shop sells the non brewed condiment - I like it better! My mouth is watering at the very mention of it!

I buy Smart Price from Asda Midget Gems for 48p. I must admit they keep changing prices and only last year they were 29p. But they are still good value and just as good as the branded ones, if not better.

I like chicken & ham paste in a sarnie every now and then - but hubby refuses to go near the stuff - calls it cat food! He's probably not that far from the truth, I don't suppose the ingredients list is very good qulity - but I still like the taste! :D

Another vote for Sainsburys value tea..... bought it today and it is very good. Can't believe I have never really noticed it before.

Another product I love is Sainsbury's Basics Mixed Vegetable Savoury Rice 26 p I think, Really good either as a side dish or as a main.

Loving this thread.:T Thanks to all those who have posted their tips so far.

I was a Twinings fan until they moved production from the UK so went to Yorkshire Tea which I like. Am going to buy a box of Sainsburies Value to try it, as at 27p it seems mad not to when it seems to be highly recommended by a number of people.

    thanks for the tip!
