Morning all
Just a quick update cos I forgot to post yesterday. Not much on the frugal front except a NSD yesterday. Tried taking pictures for ebay but my camera isn't behaving. Not sure what to do about thatCould borrow OH's but it scares me.... it's not a 'point and click' which is about all I can manage!
Work day today and planning not to spend again. If I meet a friend for coffee I have 2 free due at Nero's and 800 points for Costa from a previous life:rotfl:
Will be back later for a catch up... have a frugal day all0 -
Hello everyone, I too have been trying to get control of my budget and decided the way to go would be to bulk buy food. I took advantage of Lidl's half price muesli last weekend and bought 6 but this morning the family refused to eat it as it has lumps in (fruit) so spent 30 mins picking every bit out leaving only raisins. So now I have a bowl of dried fruit nobody will eat and 5 more bags to go. Does anyone have an idea what I can do with it as seems a waste to throw it? X btc0

Still busy in the background planning frugal action plan. I managed to get my car serviced without going overdrawn - this is the first time in quite a few years. I must squirrel an amount away from now on instead of playing car bill roulette. It has meant that there is no room whatsoever for any other spends.
Working out the food side of my budget and setting too with meal plan ideas to keep my within my limits. My stock cupboard is getting low, OK for baking & herbs/spices but need to build up other staples. Any contributions greatly appreciated.Frugal Challenge £9000

Melt chocolate, and add the dried fruit in, mix and then leave to harden in moulds or pour in a shallow baking tray then break up.Living Simply, not simply living.Weight Loss - 5b/55lb

Good idea, bet they'll eat it thenLidl and Aldi also do good value chocolate ~ some of it vegan.
I was going to suggest fruit bread too but already mentioned.... we use leftover cereals, dried fruit, seeds, nuts etc as topping for puds when the fruit needs using. Could also try adding to homemade biscuits, bet it'll be nice with oats and a bit of golden syrup... all kids like golden syrup don't they? And it's cheap!0 -
Thank you for the suggestions I will try them all. I know they would definitely eat the chocolate so will try that one first.

Hi Everyone,
Haven't posted for a few days but amazed at how well everyone is doing. Popped over to the January Grocery Challenge earlier and found some excellent money saving ideas there!
So sorry to hear about your misfortune Chika - sending virtual hug x
Have had minimal spends over last few days, mostly food for dogs and cats. I am using food from freezer and storecupboard to make the family meals - I have really enjoyed making up some new recipes (most things taste good, luckily!).
Got a text to say that I had won a £10 Asda voucher in their recent Heinz Winter Warmers competition, and managed to bag 2 free tickets to Destinations at the end of January. As I was planning to meet my daughter in London, we will have a free day out! Have also managed to grab three freebies today - pack of Cushelle loo roll (FB), Aussie 3 minute repair and Post-It pad (FB). Well pleased with my haul - have found that you need to log on early in the morning to get the freebies. :j
Happy frugalling everyone. x0
