Melt chocolate, and add the dried fruit in, mix and then leave to harden in moulds or pour in a shallow baking tray then break up.

Afternoon All.
Not been concentrating on frugalling as so busy back at work.
This weekend set aside to ensure everything is in order:
1. Need to add OH onto Car Insurance as he will be driving my car soon.
2. Going to inventory cupboards and aim to use things up in order to minimise food spend this week. Done
3. Chase up accountants to ensure they have actioned my tax stuff. Done - Thankfully they have not forgot about it like they did last year!!
4. Aiming for minimum spend next week. May sign up for the weekly spend challenge - I am sure I found one somewhere on the forum.
5. Aim to set some time aside daily to keep on top of finances, food planning etc.0 -
Morning all
Had a fairly good week frugally and been writing down all my spends.
Need to do a bit of shopping today but got a list and will go to the 99p store first to see if I can get things like light bulbs and bin bags cheaper.
Going to have a quiet weekend, might take the boys swimming tomorrow but might just potter round the house.Mum to 2 DSs, dog mum, wife full-time worker.
Keen to live a healthly lifestyle and save money0 -

Hi Everyone!
A few years ago I went to a talk about someone living on £25 a month. It seemed unbelievable, but she had meal plans and did some demonstrations of her dishes. I was well impressed but didn't think my family would cope with the meal plan. Roll on a few years and I have just googled and found the website with meal plans and recipes (possibly everyone already uses it, but haven't seen it mentioned on here before) it is www.cheap-family-recipes.org.uk.
We are a family of three adults and two 5 year olds. I am planning to grow a lot of our own produce this year and already have a pretty impressive herb garden and grow lettuce on the window sill in the kitchen. I'm going to try and bring our monthly food budget in at £100 per month. Watch this space!!!!
Happy frugalling everyone!
ps. I remember someone mentioning bags of frozen berries from Lidl - please could you let me know the pack size and price. Thank you x0 -

Hi
Been busy reading and not inputting, feeling quite good as this week only spent 89p on some bread, normally make it but time ran out! had my AF order that i had ordered the week before arrived and pleased with the haul, I think food is my biggest challenge so that's what i am concentrating on most at the moment to reduce! Good luck everyone, keep up the good work!Having a Consumer Holiday 2015:A0 -

I get frozen berries from Lidl - I usually go for the raspberries as I love making raspberry crumble. They are 500g bags which is bigger than you get in the other supermarkets (they are usually 340g I think). Can't remember what they cost but can remember thinking it was better value with the bigger size bag. Will have a price check next time I am in Lidl.
I too have been trying to reduce my food budget and was doing Ok on £25 per week but it seems to have crept up to £35 per week again. Would like to get this down again, if possible. I found this thread really inspiring

especially the menu plan done by Butterfly Brain. I did a price check on the Tesco items she mentions on her list last night and some of the things have gone up in price since she posted the list but they are still at a great price. I did my shop in Tesco last night based on some of this list and I got 3 carrier bags worth of stuff for £11.34. There are certain things I am fussy about so tend to buy branded such as chopped tomatoes but otherwise will be sticking with this again to see how it goes.0
