Hi all, had a really good day today. Went to the bank to withdraw our savings from last year and collected the interest. Set up new savings account, just need to arrange an ISA now to put the lump sum from last year into. I was quite disappointed with our last years savings as we managed a lot less than we had planned at the start of 2012. But when I received all that money at the bank today it felt amazing and incredibly rewarding, so bring on new savings in 2013!
Went to Lidl and got a few bits and pieces and had to put fuel in the car, so the total spend today was £27.630 -
Does anyone have a Halifax Reward Current Account?
Been planning for a while to change OHs account to this in order to earn £5 each month but been out off by the prospect of having to change all direct debits, etc.
If anyone has changed their acc to Halifax could you please give me some feedback on how it went, was it easy enough to change direct debits? Or was it not worth the hassle?0 -
Chika, so sorry to hear your news, it's devistating to be burgled yet to think they thought it ok to violate your personal space by trashing it just because they could is absolutely disgusting.. I agree with the others.. is there anything we can do to help? x"There's a little witch in all of us"🔮🪬🧿DEBT FREE 06/2018Mrs SD’s Decluttering 2025 ⭐️ 🥇🥇0

Thanks for all the lovely messages of support. I really appreciate them. And your offers of help. Unfortunately they took expensive electricals, devastated about my laptop and camera. Trying to make money for replacements on ebay but difficult with no equipment and nothing left to sell! Arrrrggghhhh. Screams! I'm not weepy anymore just angry. I wish people would think before they do evil things like that. There are many things in life that will catch your eye, only a few will catch your heart. Pursue those.0

Hi Baking Mad, I am in the process of switching from santander to halifax for the same reason. I applied the last week of nov and thry have only just created the account. Also as my partner applied, it is only in his name but our santander one was a joint acc. They said on the phone to just pop in and they could put me on... so we drove 10 miles with both kids in tow solely for that purpose and they told me i would have to book an appointment... none avail until next week! If you do it, i would advise keeping your old account open as back up x0

I did this too, but have never had the £5 ever. Knowing me I've probably got the wrong account but maybe I should check.
so sorry to hear your news, I've been there and it really does rock you for a little while. Don't let the devils get you down. Sending big hugs. x x x x0 -
Chicka- I hope everything is settling down for you, my thoughts are with you.
Everyone is doing well and being supportive on this board. I love pintrest too, I use it for all sorts of articles. The winter months are more frugal or the Rivett's as work slows down for Daddy Rivett, so it is always refreshing to find new ways and gain support in cutting the costs right down.- MSE Forum Achievements:
