    Its official:

    http://www.vodafone.com/assets/files/en/stop_the_clock.pdf

Quite interesting "UK-first". And its open to pay monthly as well as PAYG customers. Other new tarriff information looks good too:
From 1 May, there will be nine Anytime Perfect Fit pay monthly bundles instead of the current five to give extra choice and value. For example, a monthly fee of £50 will give a customer 500 minutes per month instead of the existing 400. From 1 June pay as you talk bundles will change from a daily to 30 day allocation. A £15 text pack will give a prepay customer 500 texts over 30 days – the equivalent of just 3p per text. If customers choose to take advantage of Vodafone Stop the Clock, it applies to evening and weekend calls to any UK fixed line or mobile and is also available on the Vodafone live! with 3G price plans. There is no additional charge for the Vodafone Stop the Clock feature and a customer’s first three minutes can come from their price plan’s bundled minutes.

Also great to see the Stop the Clock offer is to any network! Now if only they gave free 0800 calls (to 1899) I would ditch Orange!

    Thanks for that.

They're not stupid as Stop the Clock is not available on the vodaphone PAYG smartstep priceplan (30p for first 3minutes, 5p thereafter) but only on the PAYG smartplus plan where ALL daytime calls are 30p (except to other networks), and 5p evening/weekend. The 'stop the clock' is ideal for those that are only off-peak callers but for those that call during the daytime you and want to benefit from 'stop the clock', you would need to switch to the 30p for all daytime calls thereby paying an absolute fortune for your daytime calls!

The suspense is killing me. When are you going to tell us jf2404?
I'm looking to move from vodafone between now and the end of the month probably to orange. Want a new handset and most of the people I know are on orange.

    Hi all,

I am an existing Vodaphone contract customer and I have just been on the Voda website to check out the 'stop the clock' offer.

Unfortunately the offer doesn't seem to apply to existing customers. I quote the following direct from the Vodaphone website.

'To benefit from Vodafone Stop The Clock, simply buy one of our new pay as you talk mobile phones, or sign up with one of our new pay monthly 18 month plans.'

Here is a link to the whole page

Woa is me, what a shame they seem unable to look after their existing customers.

    leosayer39,

the official documentation says its open to exisiting customers too. From the 1st May just phone up customer services and ask for it to be enabled on your package.

    Hope that helps.

If you read this page then, to me anyhow, I get the impression it is only applicable for those on 18 month contracts (not 12month) or on the SmartPlus PAYG plan (where all daytime calls are 30ppm).

If you read the section taken from their website (below) it states existing contract customers simply change to a new* pay monthly price plan.

    * Note the word, 'New', may mean having to take out a new contract!

There is a freephone number 08080 125 126 (from landlines) that you could ring for further clarification on all the above.
    How do I get it?

Vodafone Stop The Clock is available to new and existing customers, if you pay monthly or pay as you talk.

    Pay as you talk customers
Simply switch to our smartplus pay as you talk price plan and add Vodafone Stop The Clock by calling 08080 125 126.

    Pay monthly customers
Simply switch to a new pay monthly price plan. Log into My Vodafone and use the 'Change price plan' functionality or call 08080 125 126 to speak to an advisor.

    Hi all,

    Thanks for your replies,

    I have just found this

'What if I want a 12 -month contract?
You can sign up to any plan with a 12-month contract, but you won't be able to get Vodafone Stop The Clock.'

Here is a link to the full faq page

Currently wondering wether it would be worth signing up for a new contract

    Hmmmmm....

    I'll keep watching this thread

    leosayer39,

Good spotting. Therefore those already on a 12month contract have to sign up for a new 18 month contract. If you're on a 12 month contract and you very rarely go over your inclusive minutes it may not be worth getting a new contract for 18months to benefit from the Stop The Clock.
