I gave my friend the cash and he used his credit card.
So your friend made the purchase then?
Maybe you should read MSE's Section 75 Refunds guide and advise your friend to seek a refund from the credit card provider, but ask yourself whether you have allowed enough time for the product to be supplied before doing that.
Be careful though... if your friend made the purchase but will not benefit from the goods, then Section 75 of The Consumer Credit Act 1974 may not be applicable.0 -
Dear All,
I have just been informed by a store manager that floors 2 go the has been bought out again, they will honour existing orders but not refunds.
Apparently it would be in the press in the next 24 hours.
Where that leaves customers with refunds pending I do not know.
After being fobbed off for three weeks;
"we have sent you refund to a person of the same name"
"The area manager has authorised this it will arrive in 10 working days"
"we have moved office, the cheque has been lost"
I am finally told to sod off, I wont be seeing my £1000 back. I have put a claim in with Visa but stupidly paid on my debit card rather than credit card so am not afforded as much protection.
I apparently need to claim this back from the administrators... wish me luck!0 -
Another customer who seems to have been caught out.
Paid £850 for flooring on 08/06/2014 and have been passed around for the last couple of weeks after trying to chase my order.
Went into the store yesterday and was told all order before Saturday (5th July) were now on the "old system" and they are unable to now give me any information about my order. Asked if I could get a refund and they have said i need to go through head office, however they then told me head office is no longer open as they are now moving to Southampton after being taken over by ANBO International.
Purchase was made by Credit Card so i will need to go through them for a refund as at present the company who i bought my flooring through don't have any detail of my order.
Floors 2 go seem to be playing constant games with customers?0 -

That is also a possibility, but you are unlikely to get much of your money back that way.
Are they in administration then?
Read MSE's guide on Administration for help with that.0 -
Went into their Newport branch at Maesglas Retail Park on 2nd May. Paid £1500 on my visa debit card for solid oak flooring, underlay and beading. Flooring in stock but was told would have to wait about a week or so for the beading. This was printed on the receipt as being available for collection after 9th May. I called every week chasing this up and was told that it was still on order/they were waiting for it to come in. I wasn't in a huge rush as the whole house was being renovated but 10 weeks on, the floor is down and I'm £152 out of pocket with no beading! Was told on Friday last week that they had been taken over and things were being dealt with by their "Head Office" and they didn't currently have a computer system. I called back Monday and was given a number (01384 258421) to call and have been trying since then to get hold of someone. The line is constantly engaged. I subsequently rang the Newport store and they told me that there are 2 guys dealing with outstanding orders on that telephone number for 42 of their branches! The Newport store don't want to know and have just said that the company that have taken them over will be "honouring" orders but not refunding.
I sent a letter before action yesterday to the address listed on their website - 74 Newton Rown, Birmingham, B6 4HA. I'm not expecting a response from them any time soon, if at all. I'll be contacting Watchdog/The Ferret and Trading Standards. An absolute shambles of a company!0 -
I had my fingers slightly burnt by these people some months ago as previously posted. I'm now just thinking about the many poor, unfortunate people who work for Floors to go and now regret ever joining the company. It's not easy getting away from the situation they're in.0

Unfortunately I have pretty much the same story as others, but with a nasty twist.
Not being aware of all the concern around F2G we went to a branch in Birmingham and ordered around £1400 of tiled laminate; delivery date for the following week. After several interactions with the retail manager, mainly blaming the distributor for a new delivery date several weeks in the future, my wife cancelled the order as it was needed for a kitchen refit occurring in a fortnight. Since by this time, no-one could believe a word the F2G staff said, she went into the store and insisted the refund paperwork was filled out in her presence and submitted to their 'head office'. Later she got a call saying the refund had been done, and she checked the credit card statement on-line and indeed the full refund had been received. Lucky us; until she checked a couple of days later and the money had been withdrawn again! From this point on, the familiar evasive communications with head office continued.
We are claiming back from the credit card company, but my question is: is it legal for them to take the refund money back from my wife's account after putting it in?? I can't think of this as being anything else other than theft.0 -
All we ever hear about are companies like Floors2Go. They lie and cheat and still get away with it. When they owe money, they don't pay up. They just seem to have to change their name and they are free of any real responsibility. It is essential that every victim of Floors2Go tells everyone they know to avoid them. Use social media to hurt them. Paste the address of this forum on Facebook. Visit their Facebook page and paste this address. It won't get you your money back - but it might give you some form of satisfaction. Don't feel sorry for them - they are the liars and cheats.0

I remember a conversation with a retailer specifically about taking money from a credit card. Without going into all the detail, a transaction had gone awry so I said they should just take what I owed from my card as they had all the details. I was told that they couldn't because each transaction needed specific authority from the card holder. On that basis once a refund has been made they can't take the money back unless they can prove it was an error.0

I have lost £3000 with these idiots for an oak floor. How can they keep on doing this? They owe money to suppliers and everyone where has the money gone? Who actually investigates these cases? The administrators say there is no money and claims will be unsuccessful. There must have been money because they have taken it from their customers. It's a disgrace that they can get away with it.0
