You gave him the dimensions so should have known what the area was. When he told you the number of boxes required it was a moments mental arithmetic for you.
If what I said was so patently obvious you shouldn't have got into the mess in the first place.
You've totally missed the point (again) and also contradicted yourself to confirm your own confusion on this matter.
Strange that I gave the blinds supplier the dimensions of the windows and he sold me the correct amount of blinds. No requirement for any personal mental arithmetic it’s called being a customer and paying for service. It’s not and it should never have to be complicated. I also purchased a kitchen and a bathroom sold to me based on the dimensions of both spaces I gave to the sales persons at the time and what I purchased fitted perfectly.
I am not sure I got myself into a ‘mess’ as you describe I was simply highlighting an unprofessional service from Floors 2 Go which left me spending more money than I was originally advised.0 -
After trying to return 5 packs of flooring to floors to go 6 weeks ago we have finally got the money transferred into our bank account :T , when I say almost they have missed 60p off of the balance but after all the pain we've been through I think getting the 60p could take another 6 weeks.
My advise for anyone currently trying to get their money back would be to be tenacious and keep bombarding them with mails calls until someone starts to listen, I was starting to feel exasperated and decided to use the contact us form on their website, the mail was titled Urgent refund request and I was lucky that a lady called Kellie picked the mail up and helped push this through for me, I did get pushed from pillar to post but asking for a copy of their complaint policy as I was going to the furniture ombudsman seemed to get them to take me more seriously - key words to include in your e-mail. You also need to bear in mind that if you try and follow the refund process via visa for Credit/Debit cards they will ask that you have some kind of written confirmation that you are owed the refund so the sooner you put this in writing the better.0 -
Wish I'd found this earlier! I was promised a refund of £206.25 on June 29th. Everything above resonates with me. I was fobbed off with the Nixon & Hope 4th July thing, but a press release by the administrators clearly states Floors2Go Ltd took over the staff & business, and F2G Retail Sales Ltd traded the business from April 1st. 4th of July was merely the date Nixon & Hope went into administration, and nothing to do with me.Search "Floors2Go" on google, you'll find the press release on the Birmingham Post link. (New user, I can't post the link on here)
Citizens Advice have told me to send the usual letter to the store (Loughborough) but I'm trying to find out exactly which company is responsible. Seems to me this has been a deliberate policy to defraud as many customers as possible by transferring the "business & staff" to one legal entity while using another to trade the business who then has no responsibility to the other. By putting "Floors2Go Ltd" on the receipt, the trading company "F2G Retail Sales Ltd" seem to think they're absolved.
Both are still listed as active on Companies House. When I spoke to Trading Standards, they referred me to Citizens Advice, stating that Trading Standards can only advise other businesses, not individuals. I'm quite happy to go to the Small Claims Court if I can establish who to take there. Help: My brain hurts!0 -
I dont know if anyone can advise me but its worth a try. My daughter bought a flat in sheffield a couple of months ago, the carpet was dirty and ripped so she decided on wood flooring. We went into floors to go sheffield. We knew we wouldn't be able to afford the real wood so we were looking at laminate. A few minutes after being in the store a guy called Paul came up to us, we were asking about the different prices between the real wood and the laminate just in case there was an offer. Of course there was an offer Paul explained just today, we are offer 20% on the wood flooring. We went to the desk and gave Paul the measurements for the flat. It worked out we needed 40sqm of flooring, we asked for a price for fitting. So he said for the flooring and fitting it will cost £1400.00. We agreed on the price and paid in full. Two days later Paul rang and said the company had been taken over and the flooring will be delayed a couple of weeks. The Fitter finally came and took his own measurements we received another phone call from Paul saying we had measured up wrong and will need more flooring at a cost of £350 so we paid the extra 350. A couple of days later the fitter rang my daughter and said he would be able to lay the flooring on Saturday which she agreed.
OMG would you believe what the fitter said next: "The Price of fitting is £700" She phoned me straight away in tears as Paul had given us the price including fitting. I phone the store right away and a sales assistant called Scott explained no the price you paid did not include fitting. I kept telling him that Paul said the fitting was included in the price. We should have looked at the invoice closer, it just had a load of scribble and numbers written on it. I then explained we could not afford 700 for fitting and would like a refund. Scott said we were not entitled to a refund as the company has now been taken over. So the wood flooring is now sat in floors 2 go waiting for my daughter to pick it up. Just dont know what to do we've been lied to and my daughter is so upset. What would anyone do in this situation. Not sure if to try and get a refund using chargeback, if any can advise me i'd be so grateful.

Hi, take it from an old employee of floors 2 go..do not panic!
Easiest option is to get a cash back from your bank and stay clear from floors 2 go.
They will try every trick in the book to keep hold of your money, they will delay and promise and lie and promise and delay etc etc
Seriously just get your money back and never bother going there again.
Search the Internet, the company is ran by crooks.0 -
Thanks for the quick reply, im just worried if for some reason chargeback doesn't work then we are stuck with no flooring at all
guess i'll just have to try anyway.
Thanks again0 -

Get your money back because there's every likelihood that if they ever deliver the flooring it will be the wrong stuff anyway. I'm not sure what you mean by "chargeback" but if they provided you with a delivery date and failed to deliver then you have every right to your money back. Put it in writing, give them seven days to provide a refund and if they don't use the online county court facility.
I ended up buying from B&Q - much easier, similar price and if you have any full packs left you can get a refund! You can also get a recommendation for a fitter through a local forum like Streetlife.0 -

Time for you to read MSE's Chargeback article.
Ah ha! Thank you. I was well aware of the section 75 stuff but this is new to me.
After reading it I would still go down the writing a letter to F2G route, give them 7 days to resolve the issue and, if they don't, go down the chargeback route.
I have always found that writing a letter stating the case and putting a completion date on a resolution puts you in a good position before taking the next step. It means you are able to demonstrate that you have been reasonable without success and if could even speed things up.0 -
Having been duped by David Harris and Floors2Go between 13 May 2017 and now, I have been speaking to the Consumer helpline, Companies House and the Insolvency Service who have offered the following advice:
Floors2Go never went into administration but according to the Insolvency Service have requested to be struck off by Companies House meaning all debts and liabilities die with the company. However Companies House have advised me to lodge an objection to the strike off action and if accepted they will suspend this for 3 months possibly giving people the opportunity to take action via Action Fraud. If you are affected and wish to also lodge an objection please email enquiries@companies.gov.uk and put Objection in the subject line then explain why you want to lodge an objection to the strike off action. You will need to include the Company Name and number (Floors2Go (UK) Ltd, 10138797). This may also be the case the for holding company WMT Holdings.
I hope this helps some.0
