Agree! The letters/numbers are there if a member of the public needs to report a non-functioning street light, and I think the 'bee' is actually the bracket (and its screws) for the light fitting. Sorry, Tory.

I now see that the method of showing photos used by both of you is to put them into a publicly viewable website, then including the link to it in your postings here. I suspected this might be the case but I don't know if there are any free photo repositories available.

The link to the original photo used in the Radio Times competition was given earlier in this thread, and I had previously found the link myself and posted it in 'The Answerbank' another good forum for competitions. Search for "Radio Times Quiz" there and select the earliest one to see the main thread.
