Tesco and John Lewis blocking Samsung Cashback ?

Yes, nothing to do with Tesco or J Lewis - it's Samsung 'pulling' the offer.....
Where on earth did you get that idea from? Samsung hasn't 'pulled' anything:
http://www.samsung.com/uk/tab2cashback
which links to this:
https://samsungbacktocollege.com/pages/holding
which in turn then links to the cashback claim section itself:
https://samsungbacktocollege.com/claims/tab2cashback/terms
It would help others if you checked first before giving out misinformation.0 -

I think the point being made was that Samsung have removed the offer from their home page - you have to know about the offer (and the links above) otherwise you won't find it.
It's looking very much as if Samsung underestimated the effectiveness of the offer, and are trying to play it down. They're certainly making it as difficult as they possibly can for people to make successful claims, and the word 'Hoover' springs to mind. It may well backfire on them, though, in lost customer goodwill.
They could, of course, pull the offer altogether under Clause 29 (Samsung reserves the right to amend or cancel the terms of this offer without notice.) but they've probably worked out that that might get them even more bad publicity than this offer's already generating for them!0 -
Hi,
Does anybody known which is the receipt number on a John Lewis receipt ?
I have a customer requirement number, an EPS number and a CV number.
I don't want to use the wrong number and invalidate my claim due to incorrect information.
Thanks0 -
I bought my wife a Samsung Note from Tesco on 12.12 .12. I was looking at the Tab2 which was cheaper but was swayed by the assistant who told me about the Samsung offer. I opted for the Note.
I have now tried 3 times to input my claim on the correct site. i get to page 7 (bank details) each time and it fails to proceed.
I have rung the number given 0843 308 3776 in order to quote my reference number, but apart from a voice that tells me the opening hours of the call centre and 3 bars of music, I get no further.
This is fast becoming a Hoover moment as far as I can see.
I will take this as far as I can. It's not the £50 now it's the principal.
I had an old lcd tv which Samsung repaired foc due to an eec ruling I believe over faulty components, but I praised Samsung to the hilt and have always favoured their products because of this. Now I am having 2nd thoughts - they coincide with a need to buy my daughter a new washing machine and my need to replace a dead oven. Looks like I will be back to Bosch.0 -
Does anyone have an email address for Tesco? When I attempt to contact them via their 'Contact us' on their website, it takes me to an Outlook box and, as I don't have Outlook won't let me continue to send a message.
I purchased 2 Samsung Galaxy tablets, one for my hubby and one on behalf of my sister on 10 and 11 November. Tesco were having a problem with their computer system that weekend and possibly a day or two after that also, meaning that I did not receive a Proof of Purchase email or any email for that matter from them. There was also no way it went into my Junk mail as I also check that many times each day. I phoned Tesco Customer Service a while after that and the girl said that she couldn't get a Proof of Purchase email sent. Possibly all automated but I don't believe they couldn't do that manually afterwards. I have printed off the page from their website giving my date of purchase, name, what I purchased and how much it cost and also my Order Number so hopefully this should be all Samsung need. I uploaded both of these separately today and got through all 10 pages of the claim so Samsung problem must have rectified itself. The girl at Tesco said she could request a VAT receipt which I agreed to but I also requested it just in case. She said it could take up to 6 weeks and I said that as it was now day 25 and that would take me over the 60 days. She then said that I might receive it in a couple of weeks. I think we were getting nowhere so she then said "Tesco will honour the £50 if Samsung don't because Tesco have failed to provide the correct information for you". I couldn't believe what she was saying so I repeated it and said that Tesco will actually refund 2 x £50 and everything else she said and she said yes. I certainly don't believe that for a minute. I have the girl's name but won't obviously put it on here. I think she just said that to get rid of me, but if I have to follow it through, they can search their tapes for that day and they would find the conversation. Not that I think even that would make Tesco pay up when it's a Samsung cashback offer.
I'm hoping someone can give me an email address for Tesco so that I can request my two Proof of Purchases as I now have no receipt if anything actually goes wrong within the guarantee period."For beautiful eyes, look for the good in others; for beautiful lips, speak only words of kindness; and for poise, walk with the knowledge that you are never alone."0 -

If Tesco are giving you the runaround do a Money Claim online for the amount you would have had had you got the POP. Assuming, of course, you want the POP to claim cashback (difficult to pick out from your block of text)
In the first case send a Letter Before Action. Give them 14 Days to eiither send the POP or pay you the money;)

Hi an update on where I am with my refund.
I persevered with my attempts to use the number given and eventually was left listening to music and a voice telling me that my call was important to Samsung. I gave up after 15 minutes and tried saynoto0870. I found an alternative number, let it ring for 5 minutes and it was answered. An indian lady assured me I was in correct department and stated that a software issue was resulting in people trying to register online, stalling at question 7. She said that this would be resolved in a few days and try again on Wednesday (after the holidays). More than happy to do that, so will report back0 -

Thanks Valli. Do Tesco have an official Money Claim part of their website? Probably not but you possibly mean to send an email stating my case if I don't get my cashback from Samsung. I did upload last night the only confirmation I can get from Tesco and that's when a customer logs onto their account on the Tesco Direct website and it gives a page with Order Number, item info, cost, buyer and buyer's telephone number and that the purchase will be charged to the buyer's card so I'm hoping this will be all Samsung need although they do state that they will accept email confirmation which this is not. I would have thought it would have been a simple thing for Tesco to just send an email with Proof of Purchase for the two tablets. I would have received these if their system had not been playing up that weekend. The document I printed from their website still says 'To be dispatched' although at the bottom it does say to collect from store Monday, 12 November so hopefully it is clear that I have purchased and received both tablets. Even if Samsung do accept these documents, I still have no Proof of Purchase from Tesco in case anything goes wrong with the tablets within the guarantee period.
Do you think they would actually take action if I ask for the money if they are not going to give me a Proof of Purchase? Do you really think that would happen lol? I see someone has given me an email address below so I will email Tesco tomorrow on that email address and see if I get a reply. Thanks again and will keep updating if I hear anything to keep everyone in touch who may be in the same position."For beautiful eyes, look for the good in others; for beautiful lips, speak only words of kindness; and for poise, walk with the knowledge that you are never alone."0 -
Try tescodirect@tesco.co.uk
Thanks for that Doc N. Will try that tomorrow and see how I get on. Cheers."For beautiful eyes, look for the good in others; for beautiful lips, speak only words of kindness; and for poise, walk with the knowledge that you are never alone."0
