Thanks, BullfrogXP. The link you couldn't post: http://www.halifax.co.uk/bankaccounts/pdf/reward-current-account-guide.pdf
(if you put some blanks in the URL or modify it otherwise, you can bypass the restrictions . It gets posted ok then, just w/o the hyperlink)0 -
That's the original T&Cs and most of us have ignored the restrictions and have received fivers for multiple reward accounts - this will not change as far as I can see..0

So you are saying people can still successfully apply for multiple Reward accounts? Have we got any practical examples to support this?0 -
I applied for another a few weeks back, just to see if it would go through. Was turned down on the 1 per customer basis. Maybe a few slip through, but you'd think with all the technology and credit scoring they'd automatically know and reject!
Doesn't help with the fivers, but if anyone is looking to boost their score (in the medium to long term - short term it will do damage as it's a new account & a search), I did open a standard halifax c/a recently - just to add some more history to my credit file (which is already 25 pages long, as I found out when my estate agent wanted a hard copy!).0 -
I'm only talking about ongoing account holders, there are myriad examples on this thread. What I want to know is, will Halifax be clamping down on multiple accounts and is it pointless to set up DDs to more than one account?0

I think the poster means that those people who ignored the restrictions and obtained multiple reward accounts are not going to have those extra accounts removed.
It seems now that all reward accounts are checked by staff (like the £100 joining incentive), and if you already have one, requests for more will be refused. I don't expect them to go searching, but rather the computer states how many of each account you have and they just click "Deny" or whatever.0 -

I think you will find that it is the computer who says no if you attempt more than one personal and one joint account. Nobody has to click anything.0 -

This is not true. Reward account have been there for quite a few years now, Those who manage to get multiple Reward A/Cs got it before the T&C changed.0
