I think you can also withdraw from your National Lottery account without actually playing? At least that's the case with funds funded from a debit card. If the same applies to funds funded with Direct Debit then this could be another direct debit option.
I don't think thats possible. You have to setup a "Playing slip" and select "Continuous" for the "Number of weeks" options to even allow you to enter DD details. Once you complete your playing slip, you are told the minimum and maximum amounts that will be debited per month (due to different months having different amount of weeks)
For all other games, you have to fund your account with a debit card before playing.0 -
has any1 noticed the loop hole in all of this? Halifax is saying that will give £50 fee-free to the customers but if they use it they will loose their £5 bank reward.
I just been on the phone with Customer Service to confirm this and they said that while i meet the requirement and i have £300 fee-free overdraft i will get charge if i use it.
Is that make sense? you can have something free but we will charge if you use it??!!0 -

How would you get a £300 fee-free overdraft? I have only seen a £50 fee-free one mentioned in their official Notice Of Variation.
The overdraft charges will be on the Reward account (ref Halifax website)
Planned overdrafts- £1 a day up to and inc. £1,999.99 (but nothing for the first £50)
- £2 a day from £2,000 to £2,999.99
- £3 a day from £3,000 and above
- nothing for the first £50
- £5/day £50.01 and above

Free of fees.
But not free of interest.
I haven't seen anything that suggests Halifax are charging interest on overdrafts for the Reward Accounts? (not directly, anyway)

Okay, so I've posted a few times in this thread, I have multiple DD's set up from Tesco Bank Internet Saver to my various Halifax Reward Current Accounts.
I opened another couple of accounts (misunderstanding or misreading that they would allow multiple DD's), anyway, they didn't.
So although it has been mentioned the procedure is much more "faffy" I've gone for a Santander e-Saver, it was easy to open and I received the details of the account within about 3 days.
I've copied each most recent statement for each Halifax Reward Current Account and filled out a DD form for each and posted it all off to Santander today, so I'll let you know how it goes!0 -

Must be two different originators. Tesco Bank Savings is a single originator, and as such, you can only use it for one DD. The other must be different. Is that make sense? you can have something free but we will charge if you use it??!!
They are not charging you, but you will lose another benefit (£5 reward) if you use the overdraft benefit. They'll only charge if you go over the fee-free amount.0
