Should I pay a 'charge notice' for parking in my own parking space?!

You haven't received a fine as private parking companies cannot issue them. Ignore them is the easiest thing to do. If you want further advice create a new thread instead of hijacking this one. ThanksWhen posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.
We don't need the following to help you.
Name, Address, PCN Number, Exact Date Of Incident, Date On Invoice, Reg Number, Vehicle Picture, The Time You Entered & Left Car Park, Or The Amount of Time You Overstayed.

I've received the fine (today) because I didn't have a 2013 permit (they issue one every year). But in this case it wasn't my fault because they always send the permit to my letting agency and they haven't send it to me. I have emails since Jan, 2 asking them for the permit, so this should count as proof it is not my fault, correct?
Its not any kind of "fine" and you do not need proof - These are scammers pure and simple.
You would also be far better to start your own thread, not bump somebody else's.0 -

Not sure why you think you need proof to dodge a scam.
Like all the other posters on this board, you are just the proud owner of a fake PCN, a misleading invoice. A piece of rubbish, as are the threatogram letters that follow it.
The whole scam of fake PCNs relies firstly on people's ignorance of the fact that a random private company can't fine anyone, and secondly on their natural fear of parking tickets and the escalating costs/bailiff scenario. So PPCs copy the look of a real parking ticket and - hey presto! - the cash rolls in from victims who know no better.
This is not a penalty at all. It's rubbish, there are no bailiffs letters, just debt collector standard template threatograms (all hot air, we can tell you this for certain).
Tick off the threatening letters as you get them, here. If you get a 'new' letter for this PPC please send a pic of it (suitably redacted to make it anonymous) to Crabman who is the thread starter of the letter-chains thread.

The letters are actually quite funny when they arrive at the address of someone who knows it's all hogwash and not a real parking ticket at all.
My 18 year old niece has EIGHT fake PCNs so far and laughs & texts me every time she gets one. She is just a new driver, a teenager, and she knows this is all a con like a series of phishing emails.
I would happily collect more fake PCNs than the 2 that I already have for Supermarket overstays (more than an hour overstays, both times when shopping at busy times). Plus I have a nice collection of amusing/alarmist debt collector letters which I carry in my handbag to show friends & colleagues if the subject crops up! :rotfl:PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Thank you for the replies!
And thank you 'Coupon-mad' for all the links. I really appreciate it.
I am new to forums and I didn't realize I was hijacking someone's thread. I thought that because it was very similar it could be posted here. I am sorry!:o0 -
The reason we like on item per thread is to make it a lot easier for you, your post would get lost in between others and you would not know if the advice was intended for you ar the other poster. Anyway, don't worry about it, we all ahd to start somewhere.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0
