This makes me sound a bit skanky but I'd have sniffed them before chucking them as it was probably quite cold in the car overnight!
I'd have sniffed them too, then cooked them immediately (to the point of near death) then would have stuck them into the freezer until needed, so long as they still smelled fine.
Forgot to say: a wonderful tip to keep greens and lettuces fresher longer! Stuff a glass jar with as much as you can fit, fold up a paper kitchen towel and shove it in on top, then put the lid on tightly. Store upside down in the fridge. I have lettuce that is 4 weeks old and still going strong in the fridge right now! I might leave one jar in there to just see how long it will last. :rotfl:0 -
I fear I'm losing track of my spends again I MUST find a more organised way to do this!
£6.25 in Mr A last night
And over the weekend OH has spent about 3.20on bread and toilet rolls. He then bought milk for his work, pancakes and sweets (I'm convinced he had a stash of cash when he said he was skint coz I didn't give him enough money for the extra bits) I'm not counting his extras for that reason so I will add on £9.45 to my totalsNo more unnecessary toiletries Feb 2014 INS: 24 UU: 13. I was in M&S yesterday buying coffee and I noticed they had chocolate Easter Bunnies next to Christmas puddings on the shelves. How depressing is that?!Better is good enough.0

Hello all!
2 spends in Mr T yesterday - £1.44 on some Sweet Potatoes and £1.72 on a reduced pack of turkey and a pack of chewing gum.
There were LOADS of good reductions in Mr T yesterday - Finest sausages, pork fillet in creamy mushroom sauce etc - all at silly prices like 25p or 50p. Didn't pick them up because they aren't healthy! Healthy eating may be expensive I'm thinking....:(
Doing turkey breasts marinated in a hot pepper sauce and lime with sweet potato mash and green beans tonight. New recipe so hopefully the marinade makes the turkey juicer

£1.79 spend to report for 8 kitchen rolls in £streeetcher this morning. I have also given DH a tenner for lunches this week as he was unsure of the lunch arrangements at his new branch but hasn't actually moved there today. I will see what is happening for the rest of the week before I add it. I have made a note of it on my list though so I don't forget to count it.
Working late tonight so having sausage beans and chips for tea, can't wait:p
One good thing to report is that before christmas I was spending over £10/week at work on breakfast, tea, lunch bits and chocolate/crisps (which I shouldnt eat anyway as they are not GF). I set myself a target of eating breakfast at home and bringing my lunch in to work but allowing 30p/day for teas as I have limited facilities at work. In the last 6 days I have spent a grand total of £1.45 out of my budget of £1.80:DSave £10,500 - £2673.77 - 25.5%
Pay off £7000 - £1743 - 19.4%
Make £2021 extra income - £99.750 -
Well needed a couple of things today, dog food, washing up liquid and some milk. Grand spend total of £6.76. Not so bad, managed to make our sausage casserole in slow cooker today which was lovely and the first proper meal in about 4 days due to being ill.GC = £150.58/£2500

Just wanted to say well done thats an impressive saving on lunches.Slimming World at target0 -
Just popped in to Mr S. I found it dull, depressing and expensive. Prices creeping up again, extra pennies on this and that -I 'm sure they think we won't notice:( The only bargain I could get was turkey foil trays, 10p instead of 1.50, so I bought 10 of those because they will come in handy at some time. I found there was little choice - I think since our store revamped their aisles to make way for clothes and kitchen accessories etc. the choice on the food shelves has deteriorated. No obvious great bargains to be had -at least not the things I would choose. So not the best shopping trip ever. Might consider elswhere.
Thank goodeness I cook from scratch -I could never keep up with the prices. So I will update my siggy with my total and try and do better next week.
Still trying to use up the last of the Christmas goodies. Found some Beef Pies in the freezer for dinner tonight, which we will have with mash and sweetcorn. Still using up frozen Mince Pies and Christmas Cake:)
Some of you have done the most amazing meal plans. I really must get to grips with this as I think it would help loads.
Hope to make some homemade soup Yoghurt and Bread tomorrow and I think a trip to the Butcher is needed, as I always buy my meat from him. The quality is excellent and I don't think anymore expensive than the SM, in some cases, I find it cheaper.:)Sealed Pot Challenge 7 Member 022 :staradmin:staradmin:staradmin
