Haven't improved greatly on last time..
Found out hubby spent £6 in cafe with kids on Saturday.
6th Jan I spent £2.30 on drinks for them at soft play area, then £25.71 at supermarket. We didn't really need much beyond cat food but we live rurally so I tend to shop when I'm passing somewhere. Forgot toothpaste though so need to go in again today when I'm at work.
7th Jan got awkwardly forced into getting coffee with work person £2.50
Hopeing to have several no spend days now.. :cool:January grocery challenge £111.35/£4000 -

Hi all
Just returned from a trip to Mr S. Decided to go there after reading on another thread that all the Xmas gifts had been reduced by 90% off and i'm currently collecting as many cheap gifts as possible for my present box. Got lots of bargains to stash away.
Also had to buy some more medicine for DP as he's still got man flu. I orginally bought him Day/Night flu tablets from Wilko, which are much cheaper than some other brands but they don't appear to be helping so i spent £3.20 on a different brand from Mr S and £1.50 on some vapour rub.
Popped into Hooty's on the way home to get DP some more cranberry juice. Can't recommend that shop enough if you drink Ocean Spray juice, they have a big selection of their juices for 49p a carton. Sometimes i have paid £1.50 per carton in some supermarkets :O. Also picked up some multi-pack crisps and 2 bottles of water.
Will update my signitue. Hoping for a NSD tomorrow as i checked my bank and its looking bleakdon't get paid til 18th so may have to lend money off DP for food shopping this week.

£2.04 for me today. Milk, plain yoghurt, and turmeric. Signature has been updated to show that.
Gave 20p to DH to pick up some black pepper at Sainsbury's, which should be 18p.
Hoping to go down to Mr. M tomorrow for pasta (24p), frozen sausages (£1) and baked beans (26p/can - I'll be getting 4). Might go down there later in the day (and meet DH after he gets off work) to see if I can find any fresh fruit or veg in the whoopsie section.
WOW! A £20 a month budget?! How do you do it!?:beer: Fair play to you though! Would love to know your secret!Because it's fun to have money!

Second grocery shopping trip of the month done today. Was my third planned day, but I managed to get through the weekend without needing to buy anything on Saturday :T
Today's shopping included milk (for DS), bread, spread, natural soya yoghurt, some salad stuff, a few bits of veg and half a dozen pieces of fruit (all for me) plus some naughties from post-Christmas clearance in A!di (a couple of sponge puddings and a stollen). I also got some cranberry and orange cupcake mixes that were on clearance in Mr T.... need to add some spread, eggs and oranges, but plan to make them up to take into work for my birthday in a couple of weeks time (staff keep buying chocolate birthday cakes which I hate, so after 5 of those in 3 months I'm going to show them there's an alternative)
The Crunchy Nvt C0rnflakes I picked up in Mr M (on half price offer for this week only) haven't been added to my spend total. They're for my OH and he'll pay me back at the weekend (he doesn't have a store convenient to him, and last time they were on off mine sold out half way through the week!)Cheryl0 -
Morning all ok I may sound a bit dim here but iv soaked some broth mixture
overnight and simmered ut fir half hour this morning though it does not look very appetising now what can I do with it apart from blitzing it for soup? Thanks A lovely nsd yesterday.
I add it to soup to thicken it so perhaps cook up an onion and some veg then add the broth mix.princess84 wrote: »oh and I'm so annoyed with myself as my mother-in-law gave me some sauages yesterday as she had loads and i forgot about them and left them in the boot overnight  what a waste!
This makes me sound a bit skanky but I'd have sniffed them before chucking them as it was probably quite cold in the car overnight!
Must update my spends; lidl on sat, Morri£9ns sat and this morning. Fridge is now full of yoghurt as diet starts todaySo another £0.75 to add to sig.
Going to make a huge lentil cottage pie for dinner, that'll be fun for everyone at work tomorrow!:eek:Make £2020 in 2020 £178.81/£2020
