€25.23 on assorted perishables and two bags of quorn chicken pieces on special.
    Homemade pizza tonight
    Tue: veggie bolognaise
    Wed: Thai red prawn curry
Thurs" veggie fajitas w/ HM refried beans
All from the freezer/pantry. Not sure what to have when the gang's in on Friday. Probably something involving rice as I've loads and it's much easier than mash for 8.

Just popped in to Mr S. I found it dull, depressing and expensive. Prices creeping up again, extra pennies on this and that -I 'm sure they think we won't notice:( The only bargain I could get was turkey foil trays, 10p instead of 1.50, so I bought 10 of those because they will come in handy at some time. I found there was little choice - I think since our store revamped their aisles to make way for clothes and kitchen accessories etc. the choice on the food shelves has deteriorated. No obvious great bargains to be had -at least not the things I would choose. So not the best shopping trip ever. Might consider elswhere.
Thank goodeness I cook from scratch -I could never keep up with the prices. So I will update my siggy with my total and try and do better next week.
Still trying to use up the last of the Christmas goodies. Found some Beef Pies in the freezer for dinner tonight, which we will have with mash and sweetcorn. Still using up frozen Mince Pies and Christmas Cake:)
Some of you have done themost amazing meal plans. I really must get to grips with this as I think it would help loads.
Hope to make some homemade soup Yoghurt and Bread tomorrow and I think a trip to the Butcher is needed, as I always buy my meat from him. The quality is excellent and I don't think anymore expensive than the SM, in some cases, I find it cheaper.:)
    , Wow
So you got 15.00 worth of foil trays for 1.00 Wow! and you are going to make yogurt, soup and Bread tomorrow, also you are using a local butcher cheaper than SM, Well done you.

Thanks:o I must admit I was pleased with the foil trays. Can't imagine I will be buying many Turkey's before next Christmas:D but they'll be great for other big joints or when we have a family BBQ in the Summer(if we get one).

  • I've just realised that my Riverford delivery on Thursday will take me over budget for the week. Part of me thinks that as my week starts from Friday and we will be using the food from Friday it should go in next weeks budget. Just wondering which will confuse me the most - lol

Hi - FYI : was looking at the lovely recipes and the chocolate fudge one goes to a "page not found", is there a mechanism to let Op know?

Hey, do you mean in the index? I'll delete it if that's the case, thanks for saying :)
