  • Well I have failed miserably this month:o. With the move there was far to many times we just popped to the shop to grab something quick. I didn't keep the receipts either so goodness knows how much it all added up to:eek: need to try harder next month

Just popping in to say hi and bye.

I'm bowing out of grocery challenge just now (although I may come back in a few months). I'm on a particular eating plan, and have noticed that whilst I've been scrimping over the last 6 months I haven't really lost much more weight (Xmas had something to do with it too!).

So I've made an executive decision (which we can afford) to focus on the health side first, and once that is back under control I will have a better idea of what my spending should be like.

Good luck with all your bargain hunting!

  • well our surprise dinner was very nice, a slightly spicy mince with veg which we have over spaghetti topped with a little cheese.

had a mr t delivery today hopefully the last of the month came to £51 so this has put me over budget but not by much. if I can keep going until the end of month I'll be really pleased with myself.I would've spent so much more had I not joined this challenge. just going to count the days now and stretch out everything.
You can if you think you can .

I think i'm going to have to join in having lost my job :-(

I'm literally going to have to try and get by, for each month on £120.

I'm not worried by cheap food, but I do have a diet which cannot include bread, coatings on food, too much fat and many other things which i've learnt to deal with over the past few years, nut now I have to do it on an even tighter budget until I obtain further work as I don't wish for my partner and friends to bail me out - I am probably too proud!

I'm going to have to seek out all the good cheap foods and really behave myself....and spend alot of time on here, reading and learning!

Forgot to say, it's for 1 (me) and 1 cat. Partner tends to buy her own food as her diet is relatively normal, although we will share the costs of milk etc

Went to Mr A today, don't go very often but needed to buy a couple of things I can only buy there. Went to Mr T on way home to pick up a couple of things as Mr A was so busy and I gave up doing it all there! So much for no top up shops this week! :) Will probably be over budget this month but since it was a guess I'm not too worried, this year will be more about getting a handle on where the money goes and then next year I can make proper savings when I understand it all! :)
