So far this month we've spent £70.22 which isn't too bad, but going to lidl, makro and morrisons later so it could get expensive!

Today's Living Social Deals email has an offer on Riverford organic veg boxes. It's three small boxes for £19. That's half price.
Has anyone used them in the past? How would the boxes compare price wise? I'm tempted to try one (or three). But I am not sure.

I bought my first veg box off them last week and I found them to be very over priced, I had a small veg box and it was only really enough veg for 1 stew for 3 people and 1 Sunday roast.

I've been using them for couple of years now and have no problems with them. If occasionally they seem overpriced then this is offset by the fabulous customer service and wonderful quality of veg. The company have a very personal approach which make you feel part of the whole process - farm to customer.
    Would highly recommend.

I buy the medium veg box for our family of 6 and only occasionally need to top up with things like salad if not in season. You need to get used to meal planning around you veg box though not decide meals and then find its not in this weeks box. And at end of week use up scraps in delicious soup, yum!

@ Miroslav. Sorry to hear that. Hope something good turns up for you before too long.

    ........

Tea from the freezer last couple of nights. Probably will be tonight too. Thank goodness i have a freezer full of food; some homemade meals and assorted frozen veg, quorn etc to make meals almost, in minutes!

Not planning on spending anything on groceries today. I do have a food order coming from an order i placed last saturday night, so fingers crossed the delivery arrives and isn't disrupted by the couple of inches (if that) of snow we have here.

Basically it was pakoras in a yoghurt sauce (supposed to be onion pakora but I also added peas to bulk up the veg content), plus I added some of already roasted butternut squash, also to bulk out the veg content. Served with HM chapattis as couldn't be bothered making naans after I'd made the pakora lol. Made a bit of a mess of the kitchen but didn't take as long as I thought it would and was so good and unusual :)

Sounds really good and different, where did you find the recipe?

Think that today will be some kind of pasta bake. I have loads of peppers in the fridge to be used up. Might roast them first and make a chilli cheese sauce for the pasta.
