    Hello!

Had a spend of £2.99 in Mr W today on onions, basmati rice and a ahem...small bag of Bamba (peanut butter flavoured Wotsits) :o

Doing Sausages with sweet potato mash and broccoli tonight. I'm having real sausages (the last pack in the freezer), and my Housemate is having Quorn ones bought in my Mr T delivery.

The whole pack of real sausages have been defrosted, so the whole pack needs to be cooked, but obviously I won't be having 6 to myself! I'll have a couple, and then use the other ones for lunches in the week/put in the freezer to use for a future meal.

Welcome to all the newcomers. :)

Evening, everyone - happy to report an NSD chez Kitchenbunny today, for which I'm eternally grateful! Hopefully tomorrow will be too. Just made a lovely Chicken and Bacon Lasagne for tea with another portion to freeze. Mealplan is all prepped for next week and will go through the cupboards tomorrow to make sure there's nothing else to add to the shopping list. Looking forward to a less-spendy next week!

    Have a lovely evening, everyone.

    KB xx

  • Does anyone any good deals for a first online shop? I know some give you a certain amount off or free delivery? I'm thinking this could help save some money as I am awful as just chucking stuff in! Thing I'm worried about is substitutes. What if I did not like the substitute? Do I get to know before, during or after it's delivere dand can I return it?

    Thanks.

2 adults, 3 kids and 2 cats here, a £300 budget is very doable :) it's our max (we have a separate grocery account) trying £200 this month but seeing as DH and I appear to be shopping separately (he's doing my head in  ) it's not going so well...

Not sure I could get it that low. Am leaving it at £350.00 this month as it is OHs birthday and I am doing a really nice meal in with drinks as we will not be going out. Will set the budget at £300.00 next month and try like mad to stick to it.

OH does most of the shopping and he has taken alot of educating but finally we are getting somewhere.

I have meal planned for this week and just ordered an internet shop as I had a free delivery code. I have spent £80.00 but that includes £20.00 on drinks for OHs birthday and around £10.00 for the meal so I didnt think that was too bad. The budget seems to be doing very well so far!!

Nade a really awful tea tonight. A pasta soup, which doesnt sound too bad, but i tried spice it up and it ended up looking like bile and tasting not much better. Some we win, some we lose eh?

Think i will have a cheese sandwich shortly!

I do 0cado on line and I very rarely get subs and if I do and its not what I want i just send it back.
I think the 0cado customer service is second to none, I pay £6.99 per month and I could have a delivery any day for that. They offered me a 6 month free delivery, i tried it and I was hooked.
They sometimes do a groupon where you get free shopping and free delivery.
    http://www.groupon.co.uk/deals/national-deal/ocado/2957813

I know some people will say 0cado is expensive but it really has saved me money, i am very careful about what I buy and stick mainly to the offers, I look at the offers and meal plan around them. I have an App on my phone and use that often.
I am also impressed by the quality. They also do a guaranteed shelf life so you know the minimum time an item will last for. Even the OH who was against me doing online shopping is converted.
The shopping arrives on a Saturday morning and its all put away, leaving our weekends for what we want to do.

if you google vouchers and the online retailer you want to try you will come up with some vouchers. If you can be bothered, if you go round them all, you could get a discount off each and everyone of them and by the time you have tried them all, they will be sending you further vouchers to entice you back!!

Mr T usually have £10 off first £50 shop vouchers all over the place! If you check out topcashback I think you get £5 cash back too. I have always selected no substitutes as I don't like the idea of getting something I haven't chosen!

I'm doing really well, less than £20 so far this month, however I am also doing the eating out of the cupboards and freezer challenge too.

I've only really been buying fresh food and juices but I did buy some baked beans today from Poundland today as I only like a small amount and they have the 150gram tins (3 for £1)
