However I did an emergency shop yesterday for fresh bits in case we get snow, and although I am within walking distance of the shops I would find it hard to carry it home in bad weather. I have just been watching a TV programme on the 50 top health hazards and I was amazed how little nutrition is in our diet compared to the last century. We would have to eat 10 times as much to get the same nutrients. And yet we are living longer?
I watched that too! Well bang goes 'fat free' products from my shopping trolley. I think we're living longer because of medicine advances, and we ave clean water and good drainage.
I had a top-up shop yesterday and spend £15.30 for the week. I still have £35 left for the month. I keep thinking that sounds like a lot, but then my brain seems to think it's more like the 20th today. This month is dragging its heels for me.0 -

NSD yesterday on groceries. DH booked for the 5 of us to see The Hobbit - really enjoyed it. We then ate at Wagamama. All from a different budget thank goodness - £43 for the cinema/£89 for the meal  We skipped pudding and went to Krispy Kreme - I resisted but DH and the 3 children had one doughnut each which came to £5.45 - probably the cost of one pudding in the restaurant :money:
Hope everyone is doing okay.

Just done an online order with Tescos which came to £36, but £26 was food for 7 of us at the tournament at the weekend so out of a different kitty. So £10 on groceries which should now see us through until the end of the month apart from the obvious milk, ham and bread. Actually if we do it right it should see us well in to next month with the way we've sorted it. We've bought extra bread for the weekend too so should have some left over from that
I realise I keep saying I've got myself on track then something else comes up but I've done our new meal plan (will pretty much have the same meal plan for the next three weeks) which has some change ups in it and now the cupboards will be well stocked. £88.80 left for the month and that is to include 1 take away at £11, 2 chippie teas for bf at £6 (£3ea) and budgeting £30 for two evening meals whilst away. so £50 for milk, bread and ham and fruit for 1.5 weeks (should cost £6).
Right what I really need to do now is stay the heck away from grocery shops!************************************

wDecided to top up with another 6 pinter of milk today just in case and I'm also getting through the 4 pinter sharpish and also found 2 reduced YS meals to stick in the freezer for the late nights at work to make sure I have something easy on those late evenings and don't eat too late

£28.53 for us today, so slightly higher than previous weeks. However, included in that is 2 cartons of UHT milk, 2 extra loaves (1 YS), and extra bits for the stores in case the weather turns. If it doesn't then I'll roll those items over and have less to spend next week, so it will all balance out.
£76.69 /£160, with only one more week of shopping to do, which should definitely be manageable. Need to start thinking about a plan of attack for February as I've really enjoyed January's GC. Made us think a lot harder about what we buy and how much we used to waste.know thyselfNid wy'n gofyn bywyd moethus...0 -
£15.68 spent on fruit & veg in Aldi (they've changed the super 6 which scuppered my plan for couscous greek salads for lunch this week!) and bought a few bits in the £1 shop thats opened next door.
We still have Sainsburys vouchers left but know that if we go there I will be tempted to splurge.
Also spent £6.48 in Morrisons yesterday as going to help friend move furniture after carpet fitting and we all brought food to share so bought a roast chicken & salad to go with dauphinoise potatoes another friend bought.
Will go update signature :-) minimal spends now until 31st!First home- Oct’16 until June’21: £170.995- Overpayments made £13,784 (25% extra!).
New forever home- Sep’21 £309,449 @ 2.05%. Plan to clear it before 30 years!!!!!!0
