I have looked at the budget from every angle and find it difficult to drop the budget below £25 per week.
BTW my wife is from Hong Kong and my BIL is the head chef for his family that own 3 restaurants in Cambridgeshire/Suffolk. If you need any recipies for Chinese dishes you need only ask. Of course, it may be that you are unable to get some of the ingredients, in which case I will suggest more commonly available substitutes.
Hope everyone comes in under budget.
Everyone has a different budget level that they can handle, and it's not a competition (unless you want to compete with yourself!).
I'd love some recipes (they would need to be gluten free, or at the very least barley free though)! We have an Asian market in town that looks decently stocked. I've not been in there yet though. Just keep in mind, I am needing to lose lots of weight.0 -
I have had two spends this week, £18.62 in total. I have spent £86.25 so far. Since the 1st January i have had 8 nsd's so i am pleased with that. I am putting £1 for every nsd in a sealed pot. £8 so far. That doesn't come out of the grocery budget.
Good luck to everyone else.

Had to get skimmed milk today (thought I had more in the freezer but didn't!) which takes my total to £56.82/£400 for Jan.
Not a bad start to the year at all. I have to get some bits tomorrow from Heron Foods (packed lunch bits etc for next week), and more fresh stuff from the greengrocer but don't expect to spend too much.MSE-ing since 20070 -
I'm quite enjoying this grocery challenge and have only spent £48.08 out of my budget for January and have managed 5 NSD and 4 of those are since Sunday!
I just hope that I can do as well next week;)Debt Free 1st March 2017

Hi everyone.
Was going to go shopping tomorrow but as i was in town already and we are forecast snow tomorrow I thought I just get it done.
Went To Mr M for savers squash and frozen peppers but also got really lucky with YS bakery bread. Loads of farmhouse loaves down to 19p so I got really well stocked as the kids swear this makes the best toast:D
Managed to get everything else in Ald*. Like most of you I am running down the frezer and making the most of left overs and so it was really just fruit, veg, milk, juice, coffee, loo roll etc. However, even that seems to add up
That said, total spend for the four of us including packed lunches for next week, at least two weeks supply of bread and a meal for family and friends on Sat was £25.90 which keeps us well on track for this month. When I think what we used to spend I feel a bit embarrassed:o.
Have a good weekend

Evening all
Went to Merry Hill today with DP. Spent £8. on McDonalds for dinnerbut showed my DP the wallet of reciepts i am keeping and i think that helped him understand this GC and how little spend add up.
Also spent £2.94 in the corner shop as we needed milk and a newspaper (i'm collecting the tokens for Sun £9.50 holidays) and a chocolate bar for me and DP each.
Tomorrow i will be going to Iceland to stock up on frozen food for our freezer, then that just leaves Sunday for whoopsie shopping and additional things for DP's work lunch. We're not going to do a full shop this week due to funds.
Hope everyones had a good day!
