I have to say some of your Christmas's sound lovely and cosy. :xmassign: :xmastree:
Happy moneysaving all.0 -
I'm expecting my mother to parade her new boyfriend around, and my dad to end up drinking too much because he's upset, and becoming violent as he always does.
Thinking maybe I should just hide for the day.0 -

I'm expecting to meet my only nephew for the first time (nearly one year old!), to see my brother and his wife I haven't seen for 2 years, and my mum and step-dad I haven't seen for 2 and a half years! :T
Oh, and lots (LOTS) of gorgeous French food!

I'm expecting to go round to OH's Dad's house on Xmas Eve where he will proceed to try and get me drunk (he always does
)
Xmas Morning hopefully will have a bit of a lie in, then open pressies and have something to eat before I have to head to work for 1pm.
We'll have some food at work and doing joke Xmas pressies
and then will have Xmas lunch when I get home at 9.15 and probably a drink as well as I'm off Boxing Day.
Expecting OH to burn the dinner (he always does
)
Expecting tears when I speak to my Mum (I get very homesick at Christmas)
Expecting endless waffling texts from best mate about how much she misses the Kiwi bloke shes madly in love with
Expecting to have to set up OH's new phone for him
and hoping that he doesnt make a mess with the rice cooker I'm buying him..

I'm expecting to finish work by midday on Christmas eve, before running round the house getting it ready for the in laws to arrive.
Then my mum is cooking for us all before we all traipse to the local pub, hopefully bump into a few old school friends.
Christmas day I'm expecting to be getting a lie in before we start cooking for all the family. Its our first Christmas in our new house, so have both sets of parents, my brother & his son and my nan.
I'm hoping we manage to get the cooking under control between us, although I'm sure the mums wont be able to help themselves with "suggestions" on how it should be done.
To be fair it should be nice for them as its probably the first year for about 10 years they've not had to cook on Christmas day.
Then I'm expecting lots of games and laughing! Cant wait! :beer:
Boxing day, I'm expecting to repeat it all again (but buffet this time!) with additional family members.
Day after boxing day, I'm not changing out of my pj's all day! :rotfl:

I'm expecting youngest (complex autistic) to freak out....again.
He doesn't cope with Christmas at all well and the rot starts to set in the last week of term as schools like to depart from the normal stuff, start to remove items from the class walls and his routine goes completely to pot. Couple that with the annual 2 hour visit from his father, the rushing around, the noise etc and he just goes into meltdown.
He is getting better though, a few years ago he would have a meltdown during present opening and it would just get worse as the day went on, now he takes himself off to a different room and refuses to come out until it is over, as in, he will try to hide away for the entire day, we can usually entice him out for dinner (up until last year, he would eat in a seperate area so an improvement!) but he will hide away again as soon as he has finished.
Apart from that, I will have too much rich food and pay the price later...doesn't stop me though, I love a roast dinner and mince pies and am fully prepared to put up with the eek result.
We will have a great family time where everyone gets on (apart from youngest hidden in the bedroom), lots of laughter, lots of fun, lots of love.
Who knows, maybe youngest will want to be more a part of this year...I live in hope!We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -
I'm expecting for it to be the only morning of the year that wifey and I are up earlier than the kids (10, 6 & 3). We both get way too excited about Christmas day and will start by making subtle noises to full on stomping along the hall to get the children's attention.
I expect we will all hurry downstairs at around 6.30am and presents to be unwrapped by 6.32am. Chocolates and biscuits for breakfast.
10:30am 10yo's father will come around with his wife and kid. An awkward couple of hours will be endured for the sake of him seeing his dad and other brother on Christmas Day.
OH will spend all late morning cooking and preparing a beautiful 3 course dinner, refusing my help upon every offer.
Toys will be played with, broken, repaired and played with again. A remote control helicopter will fly into the set dinner table sparking OH into rant mode.
Dinner will be consumed and a few drinks. I will now take on my key role for the day as chief dishwasher loader and kitchen cleaner. The person who does this is the unsung hero of Christmas Day. Thats what I tell myself.
Afternoon and evening will see my folks, brother, sister and partners fall upon us for cold meat buffet, more drinks and some Christmas telly.
Just another day but we love it!Hey, Im a noooooooooob and have no idea what I should put here!0 -
